what was left of my birthday cake to save it for later on. I snickered as Dustin let out a long sigh.
"You should start begging Chep for more food like this more often." I say, poking my elbow into his stomach making him bump me in my shoulder.
"I didn't beg! He was the one that brought it up. He wanted to do it for you since it is your eighteenth birthday. I just lightly suggested that the bigger one would be better. That's all." he shrugged. I couldn't help the smile that spread over my face. I pulled him into a quick bearhug and ruffled his hair. "Oh come on, Olive. It finally stayed down today!" he complained, trying to style it back down, but failing miserably.
"I wish you wouldn't call me that. I don't even like olives!" I exclaim, letting my voice echoes around the crumbling brick walls. Dustin tried to disguise his laugh as a cough.
"Sorry! It just kinda stuck ever since.." he grew quiet, all the joking was gone from his face. I knew we were thinking the same thing. We were both remembering back when our parents were still alive.
