fooled, I noticed for the first time that there was snow outside and nothing else except trees. “Please,” I said, “Where are we? Why have you brought me here?” He looked at me and said, “We are in a secluded cabin and as for why I brought you here, your injured and needed help.” I closed my eyes for a minute letting the words sink in, “What is your name?” I asked him. “My name, is Blake, and yours is Sasha.” He said to me. I stared at him with my mouth open, “How do you know who I am?” I asked him. “I told you earlier Sasha, I am your protector. I’ll keep you safe no matter what.”

My mind was going into overdrive, why was he supposed to be my protector and how do I know I can trust him? Oh no, it was twelve a.m., my mother is going to kill me and be worried sick, I was supposed to be home an hour ago. “What’s wrong? You look distressed.” His voice broke me out of my thoughts, “Um, nothing is really wrong except I was supposed to be home an hour ago.” I told him slightly heatedly. “No you’re not,” he told me, “I text your mother at ten thirty and told her that you and your friend were staying with another friend for a while.” I just looked at him, I hope he leaves soon so I can try to escape. “Well thank you for letting her know that I was okay.” I said to him. “You’re welcome, do you need me to get you anything? I am going to go to the kitchen for a moment.” He said. “I yes could you get me a glass of water please?” I wasn’t really thirsty, but I thought if I gave him something to do he would be gone longer and I could maybe get out of here. As he was walking out he called over his shoulder, “I will be back in a few minutes with your water.” He quietly shut the door and left. I waited a few minutes till I heard him banging around in the other room then I catapulted myself out of the bed, the room spun for a second and grabbed the dresser to steady myself until the room quite spinning. I listened for a minute to make sure he was not coming yet and then I tiptoed to the window.

I looked back at the door that Blake had gone out and then threw the window open and jumped out it. When my feet hit the ground I looked down, I was in snow up a little ways past my ankles. I heard a door creak from the cabin and took off running, I ran for about ten minutes when I slipped and fell, when I did I hear a crack, I knew then that I had landed on frozen water. I was trying to stay still and not break the ice when I heard someone shout my name, “Sasha!” I turned my head and beside me on the snow was Blake, he look more scared than I was. “Blake.” I said, my voice quivering slightly, “Sasha, don’t move, I am going to throw you a rope I need to you to catch it so I can pull you back, okay?” I just stared at him and then I understood what he said, “Okay, just help me get---.” I broke of and went silent, I thought I had heard a loud cracking sound, all of a sudden my body plunged into the freezing cold water. I was flailing my arms trying to get back above water, I couldn’t see anything except white. Finally my head broke the surface, I coughed and sputtered, gasping for air, “Sasha!” I heard Blake but it took me a moment to open my eyes to see him, he was crawling towards me on the ice. “Blake d-d-don’t, stay where you a-a-are I’m coming.” I told him while shivering. I pulled myself half way onto the top of the ice and tried to make my way towards him but my body was going into shock and making my trek across the ice very hard. "Sasha, you need to look at me, listen to my voice and come towards me slowly." Hearing Blake's words I was slowly making my way to him. I could see his face, I looked up and his eyes bore into mine. They were filled with worry, I stopped moving and laid my head down so I could breath. I looked up again and Blake was so close, I didn't have much farther to go. "Blake...?" I said, my voice slightly shaky. "Blake I am going to throw you the end of the rope and I-I want you to try to pull me to you because I cannot last much longer. He just looked at me for a moment not sure what to say and then, "Okay, throw me the rope, lets get you out of there." He said.

I threw the rope and Blake caught it. "Okay Sasha," He yelled to me,"Are you ready?" I grabbed hold of the rope tight and wrapped it around my arm a couple of times so I would stay on. "Okay Blake!" I yelled to him,"Start pulling." He started pulling and I slowly started to slide across the ice. after about ten minutes of pulling and heaving I was finally to Blake, he pulled me onto the snow and leaned me up against a tree. I was very close to passing out, Blake's face seemed to run circles around my head. I moaned feeling sick, "Sasha look at me." I felt Blake's hands cupping my face trying to get my head up to look at him. I slowly opened my eyes,"Blake...I'm so c-c-cold..." I said to him, violent shivers raked my body making it very to do anything but curl in a ball. Blake said,"I know Sasha, I know. Give me your arm and wrap it around my neck, we are going back to the cabin." I just sat on the ground for a moment not really understanding what he was saying. Blake got impatient and just scooped me up into his arms and started running back towards the cabin. My eyes slid closed and I can here Blake telling me not to fall asleep, but I am so tired and the rocking motion his arms are making, I cannot hold up any longer. I smile slightly and fall into to darkness in his arms.

Chapter 2: What Are You..?

I feel so warm, softness all around me. I open my eyes a little to see I am in a bedroom in the cabin. "This isn't my room.." I whisper. "No it isn't, It's mine." The sudden voice startles me and I throw the covers of and cower in the corner of the dark room.
