and resentment in his voice. “Yeah” his mother agreed, just as the tall Khajiit turned to go, his mother faced him and asked in a quiet tone “then why did you do it?”. “What do you mean, this one has done nothing of the sort.” he stated, looking more irritated than confused. “This one thinks you do, and you’re just a coward not admitting it”, M’arathkar was confused, thinking why his mother was convinced this man burned down the stall. While he stood there in confusion, the man turned, Anger filled his eyes as a snarl escaped his lips, “This one thinks you should tell no one” He hissed, slowly reaching for the moonstone dagger strapped to his hip. “You’ll regret that decision” His mother said, challenging the man.

Then in an instant, the man unsheathed his dagger and leapt at M’arathkar, he tried to jump out of the way, but got slashed above his right eye by the dagger, collapsing to the ground in shock as warm red blood slowly filled the vision in his right eye. As he was lying there on the ground, his mother was fighting the man using her fists. At first she got a few cuts while trying to grapple the man, it was like the man was flying circles around his mother because of how fast he was moving. He had a hard time keeping up, but after the man landed a few more cuts, his mother looked infuriated. She stood there while the man kept dancing around her, “10, 9, 8….” She slowly started counting down. M’arathkar had no Idea why she was doing this, but he still was in shock from the pain of the cut. “3,2,1” when she finished counting down, she punched the air and in an instant , the man went flying to the ground, causing the sound of cracking bones filled the air.  The market filled with commotion , as people and guards came rushing in trying to find the source. His mother came over and picked up M’arathkar “ Are you ok, young one?” she asked, worry and pain in her voice. M’arathkar couldn’t speak, he just hugged his mother and cried into her shoulder as she hugged him back. The guards came in, “What happened here?” they bellowed, “ This one” she pointed at the unconscious Khajiit, “Attacked me and my son ” she said, turning M’arathkar around to show the guards the slash wound. “ I’m sorry about your misfortune Ra’simmi.” he said, looking sorrowfully at M’arathkar”, “And what did you do to Da’rekir?” he asked, sounding mortified and somewhat curious.

“This one showed him the ropes'' She said, laughing dryly. Later that day, when they got back home, his father was waiting at the front door, “What took you two so long?” He asked, worry in his voice. As M’arathkar got closer, his father noticed the slash on his face, and the lesions on his mother. “It’s a long story” His mother whispered, a hint of shame in her voice  “Well then, I want to hear it. All of it” He said, looking even more concerned. So his mother told him the story, all of it, and his emotions changed throughout the story from anger to relief, but mostly relief. “Thank the moons!” his father said, “ Is the assailant in jail?” He asked, “Yes, my love he is” His mother said, smiling for the first time that day. His father turned to him, the celebration ending quickly, “We should get you cleaned up” He said as he picked up M’arathkar and they all walked into the house. “This one will see if he can use some restoration magic to get you two back in shape”.

But those were just distant memories, M’arathkar is now a part of a trading caravan hailing from Elsweyr, consisting of a mage, who’s name he never bothered to remember. And a battle-scarred female khajiit, covered in Steel plate armour who called herself Hunts-by-the-Moons. She has amber eyes, light gray fur, a long scar running across the left side of her face from her chin. He has bright blue eyes, Black fur and two scars running across his right eye. He wields a small elven dagger that he calls “Fang of the Moons” that he received as a gift from his father before he left for Skyrim . He now roams the region, trading with the locals with the hope that he will make enough money to see his father again.

Dedication:
Hey guys, this is my first "book" on this website. (I don't think it's a proper book) And I hope you guys enjoy it! I love Skyrim and the Elder scrolls in general and thought it would be fun to write about it. This is just one of the pre-book "books" I will be doing. I will also be doing one just about Makinath and the crimes he's commited over the two era's he's been alive. I don't know when the actual book will be done, due to me only doing this in my free-time and life getting busier. But I'm hoping to get this done and published within the next 7-10 months. This book, along with all of my other works on this site will remain free. Just please don't use this content without my permission, contact me if you want to use it for anything. Feedback is always appreciated, I hope you guys like the characters and the book when it's released. Until next time, J.A Green
