Rick chuckled, wondering who it was that had raised his usually mellow father's ire.

Rick peeked at his watch again. "Oh, I really do have to go."

<< I'll call again later. >>

"Ok. Bye." Rick pressed end and rushed back to his dorm room.

Going in, he swept up his books for class and grabbed a pen or two. He marched out. And though eyes turned when he passed by, a number of people recognizing him, Rick marched ahead to the classroom building for his course in accounting.

Reaching his room, going in, he slid into a seat near the front of the room—how he used to when he was in high school. All that time at Brown University he had been sitting in the back of the room, moping with his thoughts on Daisy and getting back to the pack. Now, he gazed up at the TA as she was setting up the lecture hall for the professor, turning on the overhead projector and making sure the computer was properly hooked up. And he was excited to be there.
