/> "What in the high heavens are you doing?" I asked.
He chuckled, setting the leaves down, he pointed at them. "Makin' a bed."
"Oh, that's a really good idea." I replied.
Looking around, I found a stick thick and longe enough to use as a brace. Ripping the hem off of my T-shirt, I straightened my leg out.
I tried not to make a sound, but it was a waste of energy, I moaned. Tying the stick to my leg at the knee, ankle, and thigh, I looked around for another stick to use as a crutch.
Sam saw me.
"What in the friggin world are you doing?" he asked, dropping his leaves and joggin over to me.
I found the perfect srick, with a 'y' shape at the top.
I stood up. "Making a crutch and brace. My leg is broken." I replied.
My leg hurt like freaking Hades, but it still felt good to be able to stand and sort-of-ish walk. Using my crutch, I started making a little pile for pillows. Then I started gathering some more to make the bed-thing-area a bit softer.
By the time night had fallen, Sam and I had a little patch of leaves for a bed wiht little stacks of leaf pillows. I layed down, resting my head on my arm. I looked at the trees around me. They weren't like the ones I was used to, these were thick, lush and intimidating. I had a feeling that we were nowhere near Greer.
