Frost smiled. “You know where Troy. I live at… I live at home.”

Hello All!
This season has been structured differently than any other story I’ve written before. Instead of focusing on the main character the entire season, half the season focuses on side characters and their adventurers during, after, or before the main story. Only 6 episodes account for the main storyline with the other 7 episodes focusing on Troy’s classmates and other familiar faces.
If you don’t care about the other characters’ stories or want to focus entirely on Troy then---if you can---skip ahead to episode eleven where the second half of the main storyline begins.
Thank you for reading this rant, I hope you all enjoy this second season!
Episode Four "Lainey (1)"Two weeks have passed since the Blueway University Terrorist Attack. Without class to attend, Marie had set her mind on her personal mission of recovering her sister. Her family paid little attention to her sister, not providing any resources to find her. They disregarded her as a toy they left behind but didn't care enough to return for.
Marie left her house and headed to follow up on a lead. She had followed leads every day since class was interrupted, but none bore fruit. She kept hitting dead ends without any results to show her parents, who criticize her for always spending her time outside and none on studying or training.
I’ll show my parents. This lead is the most solid one I’ve had for the last two weeks. She thought to herself as she reached Blueway’s Main Plaza. The person she talked with told her to meet at the plaza and she went along with it.
A man dressed in casual clothing - a gray tee, black jeans, and black sneakers. He wore a white cap, lounging on a wooden chair at a lonely wooden table. He noticed Marie, waving her over. She hesitated at first but went against her gut. She approached the man, sitting down across from him.
The man stared at her, taking the sight of Marie in. Marie was a black-haired beauty with tanned skin and deep blue eyes. She had a round face with thin cheeks. Her body was well-fed and trained, muscular but not overly so. Unlike most of the other noble daughters, she wasn’t the pale-skinned beauty with no training experience and an interest in dolls. She was different from them all.
She was dressed in a dark-blue tee with black leggings and black sneakers. She resembled any normal teen from Earth.
“You’re Marie?”
Marie nodded. “Oregon?” She asked. She had contacted him through a middle man.
Oregon nodded, leaning forward. “You said you wanted news about a girl that looks like you, but younger? Somebody named Lainey?” He asked to confirm.
Marie nodded. “I want everything you know about her.” She leaned forward, staring into the man’s eye. He was a skinny overly handsome man, but she had no interest in him. She wanted to know where her sister was. “Where was she last sighted?”
Oregon nodded, backing away into his seat. He grabbed his teacup, sipping from it before continuing. “She was last sighted in the Grims. A burly man was holding her. She was knocked out. I had one of my men follow them to the large four-story building in the Grims. He’s holding her there.” He told her with a smile. A creepy smile.
She was kidnapped? She’s in the Grims right now? I should go and… No, can I trust him? He could be lying to me. She glanced in the direction of the Grims, the name of Blueway’s slums. But do I have a choice? He could be telling the truth. I could save her if I go now.
“How long ago was she sighted,” Marie asked.
“A day ago.” He told her. This sparked Marie’s anxiety. She could save her sister a day after she was kidnapped. Most kidnappers didn’t begin their torturing until two or three days after kidnapping somebody. She had time to save Lainey.
“A four-story building?” She repeated.
Oregon nodded. “It’s called something ending with Life. Hotel Life… Warehouse Life… House Life. Something ending with Life. It should be easy to see.”
Marie thanked him before shooting out of her chair. She darted towards the Grims and the four-story building Oregon talked about. She didn’t notice Oregon watching her with a devilish smile. A smile that screamed, You activated my trap card.
Marie stumbled through the Grims. It wasn’t half as large as Edurdale’s Slums, but it was still intimidating. The sudden change in scenery was crazy, going from a blueish and green landscape to gray and black ruins and trashed residential blocks. It was a horrifying scene to witness.
She flashed her weapon, a staff with the name of Skyfall, whenever men came too close for comfort. Using her weapon to deter people from attacking or getting close to her, she reached the building Oregon told her about. As he said, it was a large four-building that tried to scrape the sky but came up short.
On the front of the building was a name printed in small bold letters, reading “Warehouse Life”. He was right. She thought as she approached the front door. She rattled her knuckles on it before flattening to the wall. She brandished Skyfall, waiting for somebody to open the door. She waited a few moments and got what she wanted, a man opening the door and peering outside.
She charged forward, swinging Skyfall at the man. It collided with his jaw, sending him sprawling. He hit the ground with a loud ‘thud’ sound.
With one man down, she sprinted into the room, pointing Skyfall at the nearest person. The nearest person ended up being a magician halfway through a spell. Seven other people waited behind him.
“Oregon was right. We got a new toy to play with.” One of the men said, cackling. His comrades joined in his cackling.
Marie shook her head. Deep down she knew it was a trap all along. However, she wanted to find her sister, so she took the risk. It blew up on her, though.
Instead of waiting for the magician to finish his chant, she sprinted forward. She swung Skyfall around, handling the staff decently for only a couple of weeks of training. She knocked the magician off his concentration, forcefully ending his chant. He exerted a brown liquid that shot out like throw-up. It was charred mana, a result of a spell being forcefully ended in the middle of being chanted into existence.
Marie beat the magician to the ground, hitting him in the jaw mostly. He was knocked out, but not dead. She then moved onward to the men hiding behind the magician. As a noble’s daughter, she was forced to take self-defense classes in case of kidnappings, which happened more than it ever should.
The men wielded normal swords, none of them strong enough to beat Marie. She swung wildly; none of them were able to predict her swings. They weren’t highly experienced fighters, all of them picked up on the streets and given a weapon to fight with. They were nothing more than fake thugs.
Marie beat them to submission, discovering a door leading to an underground cellar area. She followed the stairs to the cellar and discovered slaves chained up to fences. She quickly scanned through the faces of the slaves, but none of them were Lainey. She’s not here. Why is she not here!
“The slavers are knocked out. I’ll free you all and you can return home. Has anybody heard about a girl named Lainey? She’s a younger version of me.” The slaves shook their heads, though, however, one raised their hand.
“I saw her. She was transferred to a different warehouse. They took her away in the morning.” A slave girl mentioned. Marie moved the other slaves to the side, approaching the girl.
“Take me to her. I’ll send you home after that.”
The girl nodded. “I will.”
Marie smiled an honest smile. “Thanks… let’s get you all free first.” She was happy to be getting closer to her sister.
Lainey, I’ll save you. You’ll be home soon.

Author’s Note: The ‘You activated my trap card’ is a joke, but also connects to how Oregon tricked her and lured her to be caught and trafficked alongside the other slaves.
“What’s your name?” Marie asked, grabbing the female slave’s arm. She dragged her out of the building, Warehouse Life, and brought her outside.
“675.” She answered.
Marie stared at 675, tilting her head. “675? Your name is… numbers?” She questioned. “Your parents gave you numbers as a name?” She asked.
675 nodded, a small smile on her face. “It’s what they gave me before… their passing.” She looked away, tears bubbling in the corner of her eyes. “I was then captured.”
“You’ve been living like this for… years?” Marie asked, stunned to see the ugly truth resting in her town, mere miles from her home.
675 nodded. “They died when I was young, maybe a year or two after I was born. I’m turning fifteen soon… I think?”
Marie looked away from 675. “... lead me to where my sister is.” She muttered.
676 nodded, leading the way. “I was often transferred to this warehouse-” She pointed at Warehouse Life as slaves flooded outside and ran towards the exit of the Grims. “-and the one your sister’s in. I think it’s… Warehouse Shero. I mean, Warehouse Zero. Sorry, my mind’s a bit in a daze.” 675 said with a smile. She looked happy to be out of the warehouse, but the smile quickly disappeared when a few guys appeared on their side. Marie noticed them, flashing her weapon. The men backed off, irritated. They thought they had chanced upon easy prey, but defeating a knight---even one in training---was a dangerous feat.
The two girls pressed forward, 675 leading the way towards Warehouse Zero. The adventure took several tens of minutes to arrive at the building, a two-story brick building that resembled every other building in the Grims. Next to the front door held a similar plaque that read the name of the building: Warehouse Zero.
Marie approached the door, prepared to use the same trick she used for Warehouse Life, but 675 stopped her. “Don’t do that. The people inside are more vicious.”
“More vicious? Aren’t they all the same?” Marie asked.
675 shook her head. “The people inside kill slaves for small mistakes. The other people only beat us, never kill us… I think.”
Marie nodded her head. She backed away from the door, motioning for 675 to follow her. She went around the building, finding a window that
