BENS P.O.V
I felt her go limp in my arms. What had I done? I cursed under my breath. I really shouldn’t have done that, no matter what effect she had on Joe. She didn’t know. STOP! The voice in my head commanded. GUILT IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS. SHE DESERVED TO DIE. SHE’S UNATUARAL. HER PARENTS ARE UNATROL. THINK ABOUT IT. SHES A KINIKY; SHES TOO POWERFUL. SHE COULD KILL YOU IN ONE BREATH. KILL JOE AND JANE IN ONE BREATH. YOU DID RIGHT.
“No. it doesn’t matter what she is or who her parents were. She couldn’t even fight back!” I whispered furiously back at my other side. I had to stop letting it make decisions for me. I HAD to. I looked at the lifeless girl beneath me. Even limp she looked in agony. Before I realised what I was doing, she was in my arms and I was flying down the stairs. Joe was the only one who could save her. This poor, innocent girl.
I crashed into the cancel room where I sensed Jane, Joe, and some of the other most powerful beings were.
“Ben. What is the meaning..” Jane’s hash voice abruptly stopped when she saw the body in my hands.
“CHARLIE! ! !” Joe’s voice screamed as he ran to my side. “what the hell happened” he demanded in my face.
“I was walking by. I-I smelt the blood,” I whispered. Joe took her out of my arms and cried silent tears. “we have to be able to do something!” I begged Jane. THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN DO! The voice taunted in my voice. ITS OVER. DONE. YOU’VE KILLED HER. THE LAST OF HER KIND AND YOU KILLED HER. I trembled under the power in his voice. If I didn’t control him he would eventually take over my mind and body.
“There's one thing I can think of. But it depends on how she came to this . . . state.” Jane's voice pulled me back to the present.
“She was bit. When I came in there were bite marks on her neck.” I said in a rushed voice , very aware of Joe crying over a now very wet Charlie.
“very well. If you can get Joe off of her then I will be able to perform a healing spell.” I RAN over to Joe and tried to pry her out of her arms. A snarl from Joe was my only result.
“Joe give me her!” I snapped at him “if you want her to live then give her to me!” after a few seconds thinking about it Joe reluctantly handed her over to me. I could see the pain on his face. “ I promise she will live!” I said slowly “ you two are the strongest people I’ve ever met. Don’t give up on her when she most needs you.” I said “ she will pull through!
“she won’t if you wait any longer!” Jane snapped. I was quickly at her side. All the other magical beasts had formed a circle and Jane and I were stood in the middle. “lie her down so the back of her neck is on the red powder,” she said. “this will help clean the wounds.” I did as I was told and lay her body on the marble floor. “ you may go now,” she said to me. I walked out the circle quickly and stood by Joe. “hums-te way, tu vent ur way, lim start ur way, healovo!” Jane chanted in the old language. Slowly Charlie’s body started to twitch awake.
