even if I didn't completely understand why, or believe that an earring was his real motive for following me home.
"Nice to meet you Amy." Miles said with a grin. "Well, I'd better be going. See you again sometime!"
And with that, he stepped off my porch, walked down the sidewalk and turned at an apartment a few doors down from mine.
"Oh, and if you ever need any sugar, I'll be happy to lend you some!" He called back as he unlocked and opened the front door. I immediately felt my face turn red.
"Welcome to the neighborhood, Amy!"
I could have died from embarrassment as I went back into my apartment.

"He's a neighbor!" I yelled. "A neighbor!"
As far as I was concerned, it was the worst possible setup that could have happened.
"Why is that a bad thing, again?" Kim asked me. She had come over after I'd called her on the phone on account of the dream I'd had the previous night and the man that had showed up on my doorstep within hours afterwards.
"I mean, it was only a dream and he seems like a nice guy. I think you're blowing this way out of proportion. You can't dream about someone unless you've seen them before. I bet you've seen him a lot around the apartments and just haven't noticed until now."
"Kim," I sighed. "You don't understand-"
"I get that you're weirded out," Kim cut me off. "It sounds totally bizarre.. I just think if you start freaking out, you're going to be paranoid all the time, which isn't healthy."
She shrugged then and smiled.
"I don't think you have anything to worry about."
"Yeah, you're right," I said. "It's probably nothing."
"You're dang right it's nothing!" Kim laughed then, and I instantly felt better.
"So what does this guy look like? Is he cute?"
I laughed then, thinking back.
"I guess, yeah." My blush gave me away.
"Ooh, you like

him, don't you?!" Kim teased.
"No!" I didn't like him. I couldn't.
"Yes you do! I can tell!"
"Whatever! He's cute, okay? That doesn't mean anything."
"I'm going to have to see this guy," Kim mused. "He sounds pretty dreamy

." She winked then, and I rolled my eyes. What a dork.
