"Zachary, what's wrong?" I asked him again. "They didn't mean it-"
"It's not that, Kat." He answered in a hushed whisper.
"Then what is it?" I asked.
"I can't have you. That's the problem." He answered.
But before I could answer, Zachary's face paled even more. "Kat..."
I looked at his eyes. "Kat, Alice is gone."
♔Alice♔
I WAS IN A ROOM, IT SEEMED. THERE WERE NO WALLS OR CEILING THOUGH.
There were paintings of memories everywhere. Then I saw an unfamiliar face drift past.
"Up already?" It asked. It's body wasn't visible, but it's face was. Male...at least 24 years of age.
Electric pink hair...neon blue plugs...brown eyes.
Unfamiliar.
Where was I? The last thing I remembered was falling asleep on Kat's shoulder. And then...nothing.
I tried rubbing my eyes, but my hands seemed to be tied.
Suddenly I panicked. "IS HE GOING TO RAPE ME?" Thoughts rushed in and out.
I screamed, kicking everything. The picture frames wobbled, and then everything was black again. I opened my eyes again. The man with the pink hair and plugs took his HAIR OFF? No...no it was a wig.
"Shh. It's okay." I still panicked, kicking everything.
"Oh, Alice. You are a very bad girl." The man's brown eyes darkened into deep purple fire pits for eyes, it's white shirt and jeans disintegrating to black shadows, and it's face melting off into a horrible black shadows with maggots in the side of it's face. The shadow was back.
☾Kat☽"ALICE? ALICE! WHERE ARE YOU?"
I shouted Alice's name everywhere, and I tried finding Kate and Jake.
Zachary was still sitting on the couch, famished and drained due to his emotions.
I didn't blame him. It is tiring when you let your emotions get the best of you.
When I found Kate, she was drinking Coke while Jake was playing a game on his phone.
They were both seated at a table in a room filled with people drinking and neon lights shining only purple and green.
Kate looked up from her drink and smiled. "Hey, you Zom. Where's your bear?"
I was still frantic and panicked, and I told her everything, careful not to tell her about Zachary.
Not in front of Jake, anyway.
Jake instantly snapped his head up to look at me when I mentioned Alice.
He got up from his seat, and had a frantic face on.
"What? What do you mean by 'she's gone'? She can't be gone! She probably went for a drink! She can't be gone!"
He started wringing his hands, and pulling the sleeves of his sweater down to hide his fingers.
Kate told us not to split up because if the person who kidnapped Alice was still here, he could get one of us.
Kate turned around again and looked at me. "Wait, where's Zachary?"
"He's sitting on the couch. He's just drained from dancing too much."
Kate smiled, despite the situation.
"Zachary dancing...what a moment."
When we looked around, Alice wasn't there at all.
Zachary was sound asleep on the couch, clutching the "U" pillow, and leaning against the left corner of the couch.
I nudged him. "Hey, hey. Zach, can you hear me? We're leaving. And Alice isn't here. Zach, we have to go." He was still groggy, his hair flopped across his face, hiding his eyes. I brushed them aside, and he held my wrist. "Help me up." I pulled him up, and he slid his arm around my waist. I didn't care. All I cared was about finding Alice.
