will go on.

We’ll stay, forever this way you are safe in my heart and my heart will go on and on

Nethan grabbed the zombie Jachin was holding with his left hand and smashed his screwdriver into it’s head. Jachin pushed the zombie with his right hand. The zombie fell backwards and Jachin held his bat tightly. With all his strength he pushed back and the zombies fell backwards. One by one Nethan drived his screwdriver into the zombies head. Jachin went to the zombie on his right and bashed her head until you couldn't even tell what brain and skull was. Her phone started ringing and the song came on again. Jachin reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. There was an incoming phone from Adriano.

“Cristina are you ok” the voice asked

“No she’s dead” stated Jachin and he hung up. The phone started ringing again. Jachin smashed the phone into the ground and stomped on it.

“Miss me with that gay shit” said Jachin. He turned around and saw Nethan staring at him. He went over and patted him on the shoulder.

“ We totally did not forget about you” said Jachin. He looked at the locker “How in the fuck did you fit in there” They walked over and looked inside. “What the hell. There’s a trumpet case”

“Am I the only one who feels weirded out” asked Nethan

“Yes i’m weirded out by how you manage to fit in there with a trumpet case”

“I mean look around there’s not a single zombie here”

“Now that you mentioned it. There’s not a single one”

Then a scream came from one of the rooms it said “Please. I don’t wanna die” The voice closely resembled Narge’s. Jachin pointed at the trumpet case.

“Grab that” said he and he ran towards the scream. Nethan grabbed the trumpet case and followed Jachin. They followed the scream and it led them to a huge amount of zombies struggling to get into this one room.

“What do you want me to do with this” asked Nethan

“Put it together and blow in it”

“I don’t know how, I play the drums” Jachin grabbed the case from Nethan’s hands. He opened it and connected the mouthpiece to the trumpet. Jachin blew in it, but no sound came out.

“Don’t you play the flute” asked Nethan

  “Yeah”

“Then how do you know how to do this”

“I see people in my class do it” answered Jachin “All you have to do is tighten your lips and-” Jachin blew into the trumpet three times this time sound came out. He blew another three and one long one. The zombies looked their way and ran towards them.

“Shit” said Jachin “I did not think this through” He threw the trumpet at the first zombies feet. It tripped and all of them ran and started tripping. They ran into the math hallway where they got jumped by two zombies. Both of them dropped their weapons and used their hands to try and prevent themselves from getting bit. Jachin, who was very tired, was letting the zombie closer and closer. He looked at Nethan trying to bash the zombies head using his bare hands against the wall. The zombies mouth got closer and Jachin saw the white teeth covered in blood. He screamed and a gunshot fired beside his ear. The zombie dropped to the ground. Jachin’s ear rang with pain. He leaned on the wall covering his ear. After a while the ringing faded and he looked up and there Neil stood looking down at him.

  “You ok” asked Neil

“Next time. Tell me” said Jachin. Neil nodded.

“Come on. I don’t wanna see these good people’s bodies with a face of defeat” said Neil “Let’s go” They followed Neil into the horde and they continued. One by one the bodies dropped and when the very last one dropped behind it was the other group. Neil looked around with a grin on his face.

“Ladies and gentlemen. Our mission is a success” Said Neil with a cheerful tone. The survivors cheered and were talking to each other.

“Fifteen minutes then we head downstairs” ordered Neil. The survivors took those fifteen minutes and rested. Fifteen minutes passed by and Neil gathered up all of them. Jachin lead the survivors to the stairs they used to get the second floor they walked over the door that was on the ground and as they walked downstairs they met another group that was lead by a guy with a bald spot wearing a red puma sweater.

“Second floor is clear” said Neil

“First is clear too” stated the man

  “How many”

  “Twenty”

“Twenty!” exclaimed Neil “We had way more than that”

  “Hello Mr Tunzi” said Yasr

  “Hey” said Mr. Tunzi back

“Ok then let’s start burning the bodies”

MIGUEL

“You’re leaving” asked Patrick

“Yeah” answered Miguel as he emptied the books out of his bag.

  “Where you going”

  “Find my family, you?”

  “I’m staying here”

“Ok” Patrick left the room they first met in and closed the door. Miguel inserted the wrap he took from the cafeteria inside his bag. He scouted the room and saw the bottle he gave to Patrick all flat and dirty.

“Shit” he said to himself. He picked up his bag with his black school shoes tied to the part you use to hang it with. He walked out the room and went to the closest water fountain. He drank as much as he needed to and washed his face. He walked downstairs using the main staircase. He walked inside student services and grabbed the jacket that hung on the chair. He looked outside and breathed. He walked towards the glass doors that exited the building.

“Miguel!” he turned around to see Patrick running towards him.

“Yeah” asked Miguel. Patrick got to him and handed him two plastic water bottles and a metal one.

“Courtesy to the first time we met” said Patrick. Miguel took it and put it in his bag.

“Thanks” said Miguel. Patrick smiled. Miguel turned around and exited the building where officer Neil met him.

  “You leaving” asked Neil

  “Yes”

“Could you do me a favour” Miguel nodded his head

“Go with them” said Neil as he pointed towards a group of two boys and two girls “It’s safer to travel in groups”

  “I can do that”

  “One more thing”

  “Yes”

“Tell people who are seeking refuge to come here”

“Sure” Neil offered a hand and Miguel shook it  “It was an honour fighting beside you”

Miguel left and joined his group. They introduced each other and walked outside the school’s gates.

NEIL

Neil poured the gasoline on the pile of bodies and made a trail leading to a safe distance.

“Sir someone is here” said Yasr who was guarding the gates. The sun was setting. Officer Neil walked over to Yasr to see a priest and two other men in bloody suits.

“Can I help you” asked Neil

The priest answered “Miguel”

“Let them through” ordered Neil “and show them around” Yasr nodded. Yasr opened the gates and let the group through. Neil walked over to the end of the trail and pulled out a cigarette. He put it in his mouth and took out a match box. He lit the match and lit his cigarette. He inhaled and the smoke in his lungs felt good. He watched the match burn and threw it on the gas trail. The trail lit on fire and led to the pile of bodies. He watched it burn with his squinted eyes. He followed the smoke into the night sky and saw stars. This was the first time Neil saw them, besides the Tv, he watched the starry night and saw a comet. He smiled and sat on the grass and watched as the bright stars flourished in the dark night sky.
