I let my body fully collapse into the mattress once I'm finish and just listen to her trying to catch her breath on the phone.
"I want a picture." I grit out.
She gasps, "No."
"Why the fuck not. I should get to see what you look like after."
"I said no Dillon. I'm not sending you any pictures." Her voice is agitated now.
"This is fucking bullshit. Why can't you just forgive me? I've suffered, given you months of fucking space, been so fucking patient … You're my fucking wife and I'm tired of this shit. I have enough to deal with, then having to chase you all around the fucking country, because you're holding a goddamn grudge, Keeley." I bellow into the phone.
"Holding a grudge?" Her tone rises. It's a tone I know all too well, it’s the ‘you fucked up tone.’ "Are you out of your fucking mind! I'm not holding a grudge. I'm petrified. I'm scared that you are going to be so fucking blind that you won't see something like this happening in the future. I'm worried about our daughter that she is going to have to grow up in the same environment that I fought to get out of. I'm scared you're never going to look at me the same after all the consequences of that night. I'm scared that-"
"Well, what the fuck do you want Keeley? I'm never going to have a fucking nine to five. I'm never going to be someone who just sits back and lets people get away with hurting the people that I care about. Lily has a shit load of uncles and aunts that would give their fucking lives for her. You don't think I know the consequences of that night. I live with them every goddamn day! You knew what I was, I had told you my world wasn't for you. You insisted that it was. As long as we are together, there is nothing that we can't get through. It's always-"
"But you're not fucking with me Dillon!" She screams and I hear a crash in the background. She must have thrown something. She takes a few deep breaths before she continues. "You're not with me Dillon. You haven't been for a while. When Rooster showed up with all these opportunities, I told you it wasn't the right thing, but you disregarded it. You let them influence your decision based on what they thought would be best for the club. When we started funneling girls places and never checked where they were going, I told you that something was off. But you let Ripper influence what moves you made. I've always been with you and even watched you turn into someone I didn't fucking know, because of outside influences. I can deal with fucked up consequences if I know you made the decision on your own. But these consequences, the ones we are dealing with now. They happened, because you had your head so far up your ass that you couldn't see that you were being played like a fucking puppet, I can't deal with that again."
I didn't want to ask, but I needed to know if all this running behind her was for nothing, "Keeley, do you want to divorce me?"
She didn't say no right away, and it guts me, "Dillon, you may want to divorce me after all is said and done. I don't know if we can make it through this. I just don't know." Neither one of us talk as we let the weight of her words sink into both of our heads. I listen to everything around her and when I hear the faint sounds of a news program, I have enough information to know what I need to do. I'm not waiting any longer. I wasn't going to lose her.
"Get some rest Keeley."
She sighs, "You too Dillon. Sleep well." She hangs up the phone. I pull my boxers all the way off to wipe up the mess on my chest, legs, and bed. Then I activate my phone again and shoot Brendan a text message. I knew exactly where Keeley was, the news program I'd heard in the background said KLAS. They were in fucking Vegas.
Find them using Lily, she's enrolled in school in Vegas. Try both Ryans and Juric.
All this time we were trying to pinpoint Keeley, but she could hide underground forever. She wasn’t going to deny Lily an education or a chance to be normal. If she was in school they would need some sort of paperwork. We would find her that way. I toss my phone on the bed and stare back up at the slow ceiling fan spinning around. I make plans to get to my woman and get through these consequences together.

I was on the road bright and early the next morning. I made it to the address in Arkansas before noon being as it was only about a five hour drive. I don’t go straight to the location, instead I wait in one of the abandoned buildings across the way to see what Roth would do when he got here. I appreciate that he would drop everything to come all the way over here and help me, but I still didn’t trust him. I never would fully trust him.
A light blue Prius pulls up and an older man gets out of the car. I nearly laugh out loud when I get a good look at the man. This can’t be the doctor who has been stealing children all around the globe. I can see why no one would suspect him of anything. He’s wearing pleated khakis and a dark blue members only jacket. His hair is graying and combed over to the side. He has a
