seat and Eli slipped into the driver’s seat.

Eli started the car. “I guess he changed his mind.”

* * * *

Apparently they weren’t the only ones with the idea of going to the lakefront to play. When they arrived Eli and Randall found most of their older classmates there playing music and hanging out and having a good time. He and Randall got out of the car and joined them. But most of them were gone by the time midnight rolled around, leaving Randall and Eli pretty much alone under the gazebo.

There were a couple of other cars parked nearby and a few people walked along the banks of Lake Pontchartrain.

Eli raised his violin and walked around Randall who sat on a picnic bench. Randall’s eyes stayed glued on him as he performed a medley of songs and then Randall joined him for a rousing rendition of whimsical dual violin songs that they learned as children. Some of the songs Mr. Dubisson forbade them to play, calling them childish.

But in the end both he and Randall laughed hysterically, hugged each other, and shared another steamy kiss under the starry, moonlit sky.

Chapter Nine

A loud knock at his door at three in the morning woke Eli from a very sound sleep. “Who is it?” he asked, hopping into a pair of drawstring pajama bottoms and hurrying to the front of the apartment.

Only a few people, like his parents, knew the security code to get past the gate to his front door. “Who is it?”

“It’s me.” The male voice wasn’t his father’s.

Eli hesitated. “Go away.”

“Don’t have me kick the door in, Eli,” Dimitri threatened. He continued to beat on the door until Eli opened it.

“What do you want?” he asked as Dimitri removed his shoes.

Eli looked him over and pushed his way inside. He looked pissed at the world.

“Where is he?” he asked.

“Who?” Eli said, closing and locking the door.

“You know who, Randall.”

“Why do you think he’s here?”

“Don’t fuck with me, Eli. I saw the two of you kissing in the parking lot of the auditorium and at the lakefront.”

“Stalk much?” Eli asked.

“You’re damn right. Now where is he?” Dimitri walked toward the stairs.

“He’s not here,” Eli said.

Dimitri ignored his answer and headed up the stairs. “If he’s in your bed I swear I’m going to strangle you.” Eli smirked. “You have some nerve coming here and threatening me after you disappeared from my life for a month,” he called after him as he climbed the stairs. He found Dimitri sitting in one of the Queen Anne chairs with his face in his hands. “Are you satisfied that Randall is not in my bed, unconscious from me loving him to death? I dropped him off at home, and he’s probably fast asleep like I was until you came pounding on the door like a lunatic.” Dimitri looked up and glared at him.

Eli ignored him, walked over to the bed, and sat down. “Why are you here?”

“I came to put a stop to this relationship you have with Randall.” Eli shook his head. He supposed the two of them did look pretty serious earlier.

“Did you fuck him?”

“That’s none of your business,” Eli said.

Dimitri rose and walked over to him. “It is certainly my business.

You belong to me.”

Eli laughed. “You don’t own me.”

Dimitri sat down next to him and sniffed.

“What are you doing?”

“Trying to smell Randall on you.”

“You have no right to complain. You were the one who left me and sold me out for a measly one million dollars. What happened?

Did you blow through it already and come here looking for more?”

“I didn’t cash the check,” Dimitri said, reaching out and stroking Eli’s face with one of his fingers. “God, I miss you.” Dimitri tried to kiss him, but Eli managed to wiggle out of his grasp.

“I told you I didn’t cash the check.”

“Then you’re a fool. You better do so quickly, because it expires after one hundred and eighty days.”

Dimitri pulled a check out of his pocket, tore it into several pieces, and then tossed the paper into the air. He shoved Eli back on the bed and rolled over on him.

“Ouch,” Eli said. “That hurts and you smell like beer.”

“I want to get you wet.” He shoved his hands into Eli’s pajama bottoms and grabbed his cock.

“Let me go,” Eli said, struggling to get up.

Dimitri held him down. “No.” He lowered his head against Eli’s stomach and continued to stroke him. “You are mine, and I won’t share you with some little punk.”

“Randall is not a punk, he’s…”

Dimitri lifted his body and forced his mouth against Eli so he couldn’t continue speaking. The beer-soaked tongue barged past his lips and move down Eli’s throat. With his other hand, Dimitri stroked Eli’s nipples until they pebbled.

Eli moaned and dropped his defenses. Dimitri had overpowered him, assaulting him from every angle. His traitorous dick hardened in Dimitri’s palm and dripped nectar over the edge. He could no longer hide the fact that Dimitri turned him on. He felt ashamed for surrendering so quickly.

“I want you so badly,” Dimitri said when he stopped kissing him.

Eli seized the moment and shoved Dimitri off him. “Forget it,” he spat out. “It’s over between us.” He slid from the bed, leaving Dimitri frustrated and shocked. “I’m worth more than a paltry million dollars.”

Dimitri turned over and gazed up at the ceiling. “I know, but what did you expect me to do? Your father doesn’t like me, and he thinks I’m not worthy of you.”

“And you just proved him right by accepting the check. You should have tossed it in his face. Now please leave.” He didn’t know which one of the men in his life angered him more at the moment, his father or Dimitri.

Dimitri sat up on the bed. “Is that what you truly want?”

“Yes,” Eli said, trying not to look him in the eyes. “I wish I’d never met you.”

Dimitri rose. “You know you don’t mean that.” He bolted from the room and ran down
