test team is eighteen men, including all of you in this room. I wanted to show you what you’re part of with this development as well as share my secret. You all may have wondered why you couldn’t track me, and now you know. We are protecting this, and if it gets into the wrong hands–”

“There’d be a free-for-all of crimes,” Jayden finished for her.

“Exactly.”

Russel rested his forearms on the table in front of him. “How soon can you get them done?”

“Two weeks. Mine took longer to build, but I know the process now. With the help I have, the time to completion is cut significantly.” Fabiana smiled as pride spread over her features.

Yanni raised a brow. “And the time for an entire unit to be outfitted?”

“Maybe a month after yours, if we push it, but I’ll be working on the Alphas of all packs first to ensure they are protected.”

“So with the number of suits you’re making, we all will be covered with two men armed out of each of the tenientes. Where is the extra one going?” Russel sat back, drumming his fingers on the tabletop.

“Adonis chose your team to have the extra one. You’re over procurement.”

Russel smiled. “Exactly. Protecting our stockpile is important. We are wolves, but it doesn’t mean weapons don’t help when the battle wages. The more we have on our side, the better.”

“I agree, so we’ve also fast-tracked yours behind the Alpha and Raph’s. Soon as they are ready to go, you’ll be fitted.”

“Thank you, Alpha mate and Alpha. I’ll be sure to put them to good use.”

The meeting was simple from that point forward. Adonis’s men had more questions for the suit, and Fabiana answered with supporting facts and explanations of the functionality. No, they couldn’t be shared, not even in a pinch. Yes, they remained see-through or matched whatever they laid upon.

She was tireless and never got upset or frustrated when they didn’t understand the science blending with the magic behind it. Fabiana was poised and collected. Only the slight tremor of her hand in his gave away her nervousness at leading a meeting on her own for the first time.

She had to know, after answering their questions, that she sat in a room with men who could ruin whole cities if they needed to, with the men under them. They were six of the best men Adonis had under his command, and he’d conquered his slice of the world with them beside him. Each of them had ties to his past and knew what he’d sacrificed and given up for the life they now led.

Fabiana was giving them another gift, another way to continue fighting.

There weren’t enough words to express his gratitude or describe how proud he was of his mate. She could have fought against him and kept her secrets to herself, but she’d chosen to share them and allow his pack to benefit from it.

But all that paled in comparison to her sitting next to him, taking her place at his side and being the mate he’d always wanted. Raph—the asshole—smiled smugly. Okay, maybe Adonis would have to thank his hermano for talking to Fabiana. The conversation had worked, and they’d been steadily working toward a new level between each other.

Soon enough, the meeting was over, and his capítan and tentientes left the room. Adonis kept Fabiana seated, gripping her hand tightly when she tried to move.

She turned to him when they were alone. “Something wrong?”

“A bit.”

When she sank away from him and lowered her gaze, he shook his head. “I’m hungry.”

“What … oh.” Fabiana’s brows shot up and she bit her lip.

“What is it?”

Fidgeting in her seat, she tried to release his hand but he wouldn’t let her.

“Tell me, pequeña. There are no wrongs between us. You can always say no.”

Her neck moved delicately as she swallowed. “You always take care of me.”

“As I should.”

“Well …”

“Come on, baby. What is it?”

“I want to take care of you sometimes.” A dull flush colored her face.

He ran a thumb over her cheek, and his cock stiffened as the image of her red lips wrapped around it invaded his thoughts.

“As much as I would love that, I am going to have to decline.”

“Why?”

“My tastes are singular, pequeña. When I fuck you, I enjoy a certain level of control.”

She cocked her head to the side, the tip of her pink tongue peeking out as she licked her top lip. He stifled a groan, attempting to give her his undivided attention.

“What are you saying, Adonis?”

“You won’t be sucking my cock; I’ll be fucking your face. I’ll want you to swallow every inch you can take and then more. Do you understand?”

Her mouth hung open, the flush spreading down her neck as her nipples hardened to stiff peaks underneath her dress.

She’s turned on by the thought.

Adonis tried to save her, to dissuade her from what she didn’t understand, but if she kept looking at him like that, he’d take her. He wouldn’t be able to stop himself. He released her hand and placed both of his, palms down, on the table in front of him.

“Go, pequeña. It seems my need is harder to contain than I thought. The image of you doing just as I said is driving me crazy.”

“Adonis, I w-want to try.”

“Baby, there won’t be any trying. You will do it until I tell you to stop.”

Fabiana, his beautiful, brilliant woman, slowly stood from her chair and put her hands to her shoulders. “I am going to do it.”

She held her indigo gaze on him and raised her chin as she pushed the straps of her dress down and let it pool at her feet. Then she moved her tiny hands to the invisible zipper at the
