Grandpa Gene passed away, the shed's contents had been left. Most of the things were old and past useful, but Zach had gotten the mower started and salvaged some hoses and a few buckets.

Going back in, she eyed the couch. It wasn't her first choice for the room, but it was affordable, and most of all, it was durable and would survive two teenage boys. The best part was she paid for the couch out of her paycheck without dipping into the money Avery Falls Motorcycle Club had given her.

Her cell rang. She froze, knowing if she moved, the call could disconnect with the spotty reception on the mountain. Taking the phone out of her back pocket, she raised it to her ear, not recognizing the number.

"Hello?"

"It's Trip."

Her knees dipped, and she wanted to sit on the couch and enjoy hearing his voice, but she wouldn't risk moving and losing the connection. "How are you?"

"Good."

"That's...good," she said.

"Listen." He paused. "It's Friday. I want you and your sons to come to the community get-together tonight."

She looked around the living room. The plan was for her and the boys to stay home and watch a movie on the new television she'd bought. After going without any kind of entertainment for weeks, she wouldn't want to disappoint them.

"I'd like to, but I promised the boys we'd stay home tonight and have sort of a family night." She pressed her hand to her stomach. "Maybe another night?"

"I want—"

"Mom." Zach burst into the house. "Can we go to the biker clubhouse tonight?"

Pulled in two directions, she gaped at Zach, wondering how he heard about the get-together.

Zach held up his cell phone. "Trina texted and wants me and Kenny to come."

"Come to me," said Trip in her ear.

She held up her hand in surrender. "I-I guess we're going."

"See you at six o'clock." Trip disconnected the call without a goodbye.

She lowered her arm and blew out her breath. Her night took a complete turn. She'd wanted Trip to contact her, and yet, she forgot all about the weekly get-together.

Looking at her phone, she jumped into gear. It was after five o'clock.

"Go put the fire out. I'm going to take a quick shower." She hurried to the hallway. "Kenny, make sure you put on a new shirt and use deodorant. Oh, and Zach, put the meat on the counter back into the fridge."

Pure excitement rushed her through a shower, shaving her legs and picking out clothes. Deciding on a pair of jean shorts, sneakers, and a white buttoned shirt with no sleeves for the warm night, she let her hair dry naturally after spritzing some conditioner to keep the frizz at bay while allowing her hair to curl.

Grabbing her phone and keys, she went out to the living room. The house was empty. Looking outside, she found the boys standing around the car, ready to go. She locked the house and went to cart her kids to the Avery Falls Motorcycle Club clubhouse.

By the time she drove through town, she had become nervous-excited. "Remember, if you're hanging around Trina, I want you both to act like young men. Don't...do anything you know I'd be upset about later, okay?"

"Geez," muttered Zach.

She'd tried to make sure both her sons knew the consequences of having sex. She was a living example of teenage pregnancy and understood her kids needed to be reminded often about safe sex and boundaries. Not that talking openly with her mom would've stopped her from having sex at their age. But, she'd keep the line of communication open, knowing she tried to extend their childhood as long as she could.

"Look, a bunch of kids have motorcycles out there." Kenny leaned between the two front seats. "Can I ride this time?"

"Slow down." She turned off the engine and face both of them. "Zach, if you're invited, you can ride. But please, please, be careful and make sure you wear a helmet."

"What about me?" asked Kenny.

"I'll make you a deal. If you're invited to ride, ask Trip to show you how. Don't do it yourself. Trip helped Zach, and I'm sure if he has time, he'll help you too. But, don't pester him about it, okay?"

"I won't." Kenny exited the car, catching up with Zach.

Slower to leave the safety of her car, she looked over the crowd. Since working, she'd met a few of them. Joining everyone wasn't as intimidating as it was the first time she'd come to the clubhouse when she'd barely had her bearings in Avery Falls.

She spotted Trip walking away from the others and toward her. In the privacy of her car, she soaked him in. He was so fine.

Solid, sexy, and a complete mystery. He was sweeping her off her feet and putting her head in the clouds. Everything she'd learned at a young age and used as a precaution flew out the window.

He excited and fascinated her. She pressed her feet to the floor of the car. That bad boy attitude and appearance went straight to her ovaries.

She got out of the car, slipping her phone into her back pocket. Trip's gaze intensified, and a thrill went through her.

He strode toward her without stopping and captured her mouth. Caught up in anticipation of being with him, she slithered her arms up and around his neck as he bent her backward against the vehicle.

His size overpowered her, yet she found herself bending and trusting him. He opened her mouth with his lips. She met his tongue, kissing him deeply.

The slight taste of beer invaded her senses, making her aware they were at the get-together. Her kids were here. People were watching.

Trip pulled his mouth off her. She stared up into his eyes, breathing hard.

He lowered his gaze to the front of her shirt. "You want me."

Her heart beat wildly in her chest. She couldn't hide her reaction to him.

Reaching out to the side, she stretched, fingers walking along the side of the car until she encountered the handle on the back door. Trip covered
