I moved down the aisle, knowing each step was bringing me closer to the life I’d always wanted, even if I didn’t know it at the time. Finally outgrowing my parents’ influence helped in noticing. The fact that my much younger sister never really seemed under their thrall, actually getting into arguments with my dad before she was even old enough to wear a bra, was not lost.
Turns out she always had been the independent one. It was just that going your own way left ample opportunity for screw-ups along the way. To her credit, she never made the same mistake twice, as far as I knew. So, all the times I’d thought I was rescuing her from certain doom, or at least great peril, I was actually helping her learn. Lessons that helped her become the strong, capable, confident adult I was finally beginning to see her as. Still, not the worst thing a big sister could do.
Karin was seated comfortably with Ragnar’s parents, mine boycotted when they found out I was marrying a metalhead, their loss really. I stepped up to the altar beside Ragnar, my heart bursting with love and joy.
I was so delirious with the emotion of it all, I nearly forgot my vows, even though we’d written them ourselves. Probably why I was able to remember them at all. Just being that close to Ragnar made me almost dizzy with all the happiness.
Next thing I knew, we were at the reception, a string quartet playing an extended set of metal covers, ranging the gamut from Iron Maiden, to Metallica to Alestorm, no one seeming to mind, or really notice, at all. There really was something about the instrumentation that made metal acceptable.
“So, how is married life?” Jonna asked, cornering me at the reception.
“So far, so good. To be fair, I’ve only been married about an hour.”
“Still, the fact you’re with your soulmate should help.”
“We can only hope.”
There were many things to love about my baby sister, her slightly sardonic sense of humor was near the top of the list.
“Feeling good about throwing off the corporate yoke?”
“Can’t say it weighed that heavy, but yeah, in a way. My assistant quit anyway, so it was just going to be a pain.”
“Maddie quit? I thought she loved working at Asgard.”
“Oh, she did, she just found someone she loved even more. You might know him, Corvin Dusk?”
“The vocalist in Lords of Sacred Shadow?”
“The same. Apparently, they went back east, some place called Shady Rest or something.”
“Shady Glen?” Jonna asked, suddenly turning serious.
“Yeah, that’s it, anyway, Maddie wasn’t far behind.”
“Like you’re planning on Ragnar’s next tour.”
“Yeah, except it’s actually my job now. You know, Suspicious Activity tour manager and all. I knew there had to be another use for my organizational skills. Only now I’m actually promoting art, like I’ve always really wanted to. The fact that I also get to stay close to my husband and our baby is just an added bonus.”
“Win-win,” Jonna said with a wink.
I knew he was there before I could hear him, my sense of smell still heightened from my pregnancy, it also helped that Ragnar has started to wear cologne to try and fit in better with my old friends. Despite not really knowing how to apply it effectively.
“Ready to go honey?”
“Absolutely. Later little one.”
“Have fun,” Jonna said, as we hugged goodbye.
I was about to say ‘that’s the idea’ but managed to retrain myself just in time. With his hand on my back, Ragnar guided me from the reception and to a waiting taxi.
Somehow, through sheer strength of will, we managed to keep our clothes on all the way to the hotel. A smaller one out by the airport, so we were accessible to fly to Sweden the next morning. I had seen Ragnar’s hometown, so he only thought it was fair I get to see mine. Going so far as to figure out my family had originated in a city called Gothenburg, pronounced Goteborg, before coming to America.
A true romantic, beneath his stern exterior, Ragnar picked me up the second we were out of the elevator, carrying me all the way to the door of the bridal suite.
They really had gone out, decorating the room to the nines, at least from what I could tell, and I found myself up quickly lying face down on the heart-shaped bed as Ragnar unfastened the back of my dress, kissing every inch of bare skin as it was revealed. The design of the dress didn’t really allow for me to wear a bra, making the whole removal process a lot easier. Along with the fact that I figured if I wasn’t wearing a bra, I might as well not wear panties either.
“That’s my girl,” Ragnar laughed, gently squeezing my bare ass as my dress came away.
“Dig in.”
Not needing to be told twice, Ragnar gently spread my legs and nestled his nose between them, lightly lapping at my wet, aching puss. Every so often he took a detour up to my asshole, which felt more amazing than I ever could have imagined.
“Fuck,” I moaned, as he focused his attentions between my virgin ass cheeks.
“Do you want to try?” he asked, coming up for air.
“Yes, please,” I mewed, suddenly feeling very weak but also satisfied.
“We’re going to have to prepare you.”
Before I could ask how, I felt the bed shift as it was relieved of his weight, the sound of a suitcase zipper following closely behind. Settling down into the oddly shaped but quite comfortable mattress, I waited for whatever was coming. Knowing in my heart I could trust Ragnar with my life.
“Oh!”
“Sorry, it goes on a bit cold, it should
