“You coming to the club with us tonight?” Deb asks me.
I glance at Channa. Her eyes are closed and she’s shaking her head. Apparently, inviting me wasn’t part of the plan. So, of course I have to accept.
“Sounds fun.”
Channa lets out a long sigh. I can’t help but chuckle at her discomfort. Why is she so uncomfortable around me? Everything about her demeanor has me intrigued. A girl who looks like that must be used to having every guy she comes in contact with flirt endlessly with her. Yet she seems so out of her element, so unsure, so … awkward whenever I’m around. It entertains me to no end. And as much as I absolutely want to get between those curvaceous thighs, I also like messing with her to see her reaction.
“How about a toast?” Lillian says. “Looks like Channa bought enough booze to drown a frat house. Alcoholic much? You only drink when you need liquid courage. What’s going on with you?”
Channa’s cheeks turn a deep shade of pink. “You know I’m not much of a club girl. If I plan to dance in front of people, I’m going to need all the help I can get.”
There’s something extremely endearing about Channa. Sexy and cute. Who is this girl? Every word that comes from her mouth seems to snare me deeper and deeper into her web. The first time I saw her, I wanted her body. Now I want her body and mind. I want all of her. What kind of witchy, voodoo shit is this? I’ve never fallen for someone, become this obsessed with someone, so quickly.
I grab the bottle of scotch she bought and pour myself a drink. I’m going to need it. As the shots are thrown back, the mood lightens. Everyone has a healthy buzz happening. I notice Channa’s gaze lingering on me. She’s not as self-aware as she was around her friends earlier today and they see it. They giggle and whisper to each other. Why are they so amused by their friend’s flirtation with me? I have a feeling Channa has a secret and her friends know about it. I’m the only one not in on it. But I’m going to find out.
Channa leans over the counter. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re ridiculously gorgeous?” Her friends laugh out loud this time. Channa points to them. Her eyes are slightly glossed over from the alcohol. Her cheeks have a beautiful flush to them. “Shush, you two. I’m not flirting. I’m being serious.” Except she is flirting, and I’m eating it up. “Is he or is he not the most gorgeous man you’ve ever seen?”
Lillian holds up a shot glass. “I’ll drink to that.”
Channa glares at her. Is that jealousy I see?
“No one asked you,” Channa says.
Her friends double over laughing, and Channa turns a radiant smile on me. “Let’s get out of here. I want to dance.”
The girls get ready. When Channa walks into the living room, I’m knocked back by how she looks. Holy. Hell. The girl has tits and ass for days. She’s wearing a dress that’s just a bit too tight—obviously another borrowed outfit from her friend. The material has some stretch to it, so it fits her like a glove. Her breasts are pressed together, cleavage spilling out. Her legs are long, muscular yet soft. And that ass … I have to wipe the sweat from my forehead. That’s the kind of ass that women pay for. Fat and luscious and I’d love to sink my teeth into those cheeks.
Damnit. I’m getting another boner.
“You look amazing,” I tell her.
Her shyness is in overdrive. She looks down at the dress. “I feel ridiculous. This thing is way too short.”
The length should be the least of her worries. Guys will be crawling all over her tonight. No doubt I’m going to have some competition. I have no intentions of leaving her side, though. If they want to get to her, they’ll have to get through me first. Good luck with that.
When everyone is dressed and ready to go, we climb into a cab and head for the city. Lillian finds the hottest clubs via Twitter, and so that’s where we head.
Swarms of people line the sidewalk, waiting to get into the trendy nightclub. House music pours out the door and onto the street. As soon as we step out of the cab I can feel the bass vibrating through my feet. The line is around the corner. There’s no way we’re going to get in anytime soon. I start to suggest another club that we drove by on our way here, but as soon as the bouncer sees Channa, his eyes are locked and hungry.
“You,” he says, pointing at her. She points at herself, confused, as if to say me? “Yeah, you. You’re in.” His suave British accent and the way he looks at her with those lust-filled eyes makes me want to walk up to him and punch him right in his pasty face.
“I’m not going in without my friends,” she says.
The guy looks uninterested at the rest of the girls then sees me and frowns. “Fine,” he says, and waves the rest of us in.
The girls get excited and are already starting to sway their hips and dance as they’re walking in. Lillian and Deb mock the other girls still waiting in line as they complain about not being able to get in. But those two wouldn’t be getting in either if it weren’t for Channa.
The bouncer puffs up his chest, trying to appear taller as I walk past, but I’m at least a head taller than him. I smirk at him when Channa grabs my hand to keep from getting lost in the crowd. She doesn’t let go until we make it to the bar. When she lets go, I already miss the feeling of
