for a long time but others came out.
A few have whispered my name to fall in; one-day I did without any doubt.
No cautions at all, no life support. I fell in love, after a little court.
I drifted away, happy and free. The depth of love, did not trouble me.
The level was high; still I took a chance. Instead of getting out, I wanted to enhance.
Blind and confused, I reached for you near. Realizing that you’re gone, I shed my last tear. For, I am drowning.

Set Back

Don’t give up when you fall off track. Don’t lose yourself when your heart is attacked.

Stay close to your pride, when all else fails. Remember your goals when your heart is frail.

Believe in yourself; let faith be your guide. Be encouraged and let wisdom be your ally.

Time alone will strengthen your heart. Take your time and develop your smarts.

Loosen the chains that have you bound. Cradle your dreams and success is found.

Realize your worth after the fact. Don’t allow love to set you back.

Love Letters

He thought enough of me to write me love letters. With each letter carefully planned it makes my life much better.

If I have any problems or I need advice, I just go to my love letters—problem solved; how nice!

I do not have to question His love for me. He shows me; He cares about my destiny.

He has a compassionate heart. His letters make me feel we are never
apart.

His love letters are enough to seal my fate. He promises we will be together. I can hardly wait.

He leaves me His love letters to keep me safe from harm. It is my way of life as I wait for His return.

Black Sand Beaches

Come; take a walk with me on the Black Sand beaches.
Where the winds are cool and sweet are the peaches.
Where the waves are rough, but gentle on the land,
Just like the heart of you, my Black Man.
Come feel the Black sand tickle your feet.
And be served Sweet Black Juice-
Umm, my treat.
Come let Black sand play against your skin.
And I will pile more on top,
Burying you deeper within.
Come swim the Black waters with me,
My Black Man.
And if afraid, I’ll hold your hand.
Come lie down with me, on Black sand beaches.
And we’ll make love the way the Black God teaches.
You my Black Man, can make real your dreams.
All you need is Black Woman, to ignite your flames. Once you’ve made love on the Black Sand Beaches, Destiny you’ve seek; paradise you’ve reached.

To be Continued…

I’ve been writing this poem for a minute
Trying to make sure all my feelings are in it
I want you to know how I’ve been dealing with it
Trust me baby, for to this poem, my heart is committed
I’ve been writing this poem for an entire day
O.k. I realize our love was not built in a day
If love was a potter, then baby you are the clay
I am no longer running, baby, I am here to stay
I’ve been writing this poem for months on end
My mind thinks back on the fact that we’ve been friends
If only you knew about the race my heart put you in
Warm tears silently petition God for you to win
I’ve been writing this poem for quite some time
This is no quick expression; how to say I love you all of the time
To say, baby, I need you all of the time
Baby, I want you, all of the time
I desire all of you all of the time, baby
Wow, I’ve been writing this poem all of this time
Six years of hoping, praying for a sign
Feeling so right that you should be mine
Emotionless deception except when you look into my eyes
For love could no longer hide; baby I need you by my side
I need you like Solomon needed the sun to shine
So I’ve been writing this poem for quite some time
You’ve been in my dreams and on my mind
A few weeks ago I set apart some time
To intentionally say I love you through my gift inside
Only to discover to my surprise
My heart has been writing to you this poem for a lifetime
To be continued…
