turned his head towards me and listened before sniffing the air.

“Of course your here.”

“Dakota is right. Let’s take this inside where you two can talk or fight or whatever the fuck alphas do to make deals.”Lucio growled but turned towards the pack house. Dakota And I took this as a moment to follow. Getting inside it was clear something had gone on inside the pack house. My worry grew as we passed so much more broken items covered in blood and fur.

“Lucio what the hell happened in here? It looks as if there was a war in here.”

“A few rouges. Nothing more.”

Sighing I knew I had a lot of work to do with him. Carefully I took the backpack off my back and pulled out a few of the wet wipes. They had come out of the medic kit. I had literally dumped the whole kit in my bag. Lucio had sat in a barely still standing chair. Dakota found something to sit on and they were arguing. Approaching Lucio with the wet wipe I opened one and touch the cold towel to his face where his lip had been split open. He jerked back and grabbed my hand growling lowly at me.

“Stop touching me for fuck sakes.”

 “I’m sorry” I mumbled.

He let go of my hand and I didn’t move. Instead, I looked at him and the wet wipe still in my hand and spoke quickly.

 “I’m going to touch you.”

Before the words set in I was scrubbing his wounds clean and he was hissing. Once I was done he looked very displeased.

 “You don’t listen.”

“That’s something we can both agree on.” Dakota said nicely.

After an hour of non-stop yelling, they came to a deal that when Lucio’s pack got back on their feet, they would repay Dakota. The plane arrived and Dakota left leaving me and Lucio alone. He didn’t say anything at first but then he started to speak.

“Thank you. For helping my people I mean.”

“Your welcome of course. Can I clean the wound on your shoulder? It’s bleeding.”

He looked conflicted but nodded slightly and I grabbed my bag. Pulling the box that Dakota was sitting on up to Lucio. I sat down and he pulled his shirt off. He had four long and deep claw marks on his back. To my surprise he also had a tattoo on the tops of his shoulders. It was once beautiful, now ruined with many scars.

He hissed every once and awhile when I cleaned his wounds. His hand shot out and slowly touched my face. I closed my eyes as his fingers brushed my eyelashes.

“You have long eyelashes. What color are your eyes? Also your hair.”

It was hard not to smile as he wanted to know about me.

“My eyes, they are bright ocean blue, hence the name Siryn.”

 “That’s fitting,” he said plainly.

“My hair is the deepest black you can imagine.”

 “That’s rare among wolves.”

“Black hair? We have many wolves with black hair.”

“No, I mean black hair and blue eyes. It’s usually black hair with brown, green or hazel eyes.”

Conversation flowed smoothly between us. It was clear he was trying to be polite.

Helping.-Siryn’s PoV

Dakota rounded up enough people to help to rebuild. Naturally, I had to go too. Summer had melted the snow so now we could pull out our four-wheelers and four-wheel drive cars and trucks. The whole drive to Lucio pack, I ended up sleeping. I had spent the previous night with my siblings. We played video games all night until we passed out. Not my smartest move of course.

My parents and I were the only ones who came out of my family. Dakota said he would be around after he finished some work. Getting out of the car it was like I was on autopilot. I went straight to the alpha house to see Lucio. To my shock, he was helping take the whole alpha house right down to the frame. Seeing his desk on a sheet of wood I went over and laid on it. I would have been able to sleep if it wasn’t for Taylor and Jace making me help them. Work was the last thing I wanted to do. Instead of helping I went to help Lucio. I touched his back and startled him. He growled.

 “I didn’t even sense you.”

“I’m unsense-able,” I said laughing at my own joke.

Remembering the cookies I had scored this morning from my dad Leo, I pulled them from my jacket and spoke.

“I brought you something, you like chocolate right?”

His entire being perked up. Touching his free hand I moved his hand and set the cookie in it. He carfully brought it to his mouth and devoured the thing.

 “Thank you.”

“Mmm, no problem,” I said my mouth stuffed with my own cookie.

Helping Lucio had somehow turned into me annoying him with a few hundred questions.

“How can you tell it’s me?”

“That’s easy, your scent and your heart beats strangely. It flutters I believe the word is.”

 Blushing I covered my face.

“Your heart is beating fast now.”

“Stop,” I said laughing

 “Any more questions?”

 “Hmm,yes. I have a ton.”

“Lay them on me I guess.”

Why did I not know about your people and you being so far out here, also what happened here?”

“My people and I… we were and I guess we still are the last survivors of the largest pack on this land. We lived way father up north but after a long winter most of our people starved or died trying to escape. We were plagued with massive rouge attacks after that. We hadn’t needed anyone to help us ever so we didn’t bother to make friends with the packs around us. I grew up here for most of my life, I was three when my father moved our people. He died shortly after and my mother ran the pack. When I was a teenager we were attacked again on this land. they killed a good portion of the people we had left. Three hundred lived through the move and now we have about fifty people. Though now I'm not sure."
"Your eyes, that happened then?"
"Yes. In that battle, I was attacked protecting the luna. My mother. She died no matter how hard I tried to protect her."
"I'm sorry. I can't imagine what that is like."
"Tell me, What's your family like?"
"Well you have met my father Diego, then there's my other father Leo he birthed me. I have two other siblings though I know I'll probably have more. I Think I would like more if I was -----"

“Siryn a word with you please."
"Okay, I'll be there in a moment."
Looking at Lucio I brushed a piece of hair that had fallen in his face out of the way.
"You need a haircut, Also i'll be back in a few moments, My father Diego wants the speak with me."
Lucio nodded not saying anything more. Jogging over to my parents I slipped in the mud. now coated in mud I made it to them.
"What happened."
"I needed a mud bath."
"I doubt that. Anyways, Your father and I are going back to the pack. Be safe. Dakota is on his way so no worries okay."
Going to hug my father he backed away from me.
"Hug me." I whined.
"Yeah no."

I watched as they drove away before I walked back to Lucio. He sniffed the air before his nose scrunched up in distaste.
"You smell like wet dirt."
"Yeah. I slipped."

Mistake.- Siryn’s PoV

By the end of the day, we had a lot done. We had levelled the ground and even started to rebuild. Tents had been set up for the pack member for the night and a few of us had offered to spend a few nights helping make sure they were safe. I was one of the few who offered. Lucio was given a tent all to himself in the beginning but after talking with him Lucio and I ended up bunking with each other.

The light had long faded out before Lucio and I even showed signs of sleep. He was laughing at a joke I had made and I couldn't help but watch him. My eyes locked on his lips and I leaned in pressing mine against his. He growled and shoved me away from him his claws out enough that he split open my skin. I could feel the blood running down my shoulder. Slowly removing myself from the tent I went to look for one of the other members of the group. With them all being warriors I knew they could help with my wounds. Somewhere along the lines I had gotten disoriented and just sat down. Instead of thinking about this logically I started to sob. Without realising I was so close to Lucio and I's tent. Unaware to me was that he was inside listening to me sobbing.

I never heard or saw him moving in the dark. So when he pulled me against his chest I attacked him. I felt my human nails scratch his face and the scent of his blood hit me. I froze and tried my hardest to not grab him and have a good look at the damage I had done. I knew I should just leave him alone but I was worried. Following him back to the tent I flicked the lamp light on. I had managed to get him right up along the side of his face. There was a slight line of bleeding but not too horrible.
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine"
"But it's not. I hurt you."
"You are not the first and I hardly doubt you will be the last."

Gee thanks. Because that honestly made me feel any better. My trusty bag wasn't far from my own cot. Carrying the bag over to where we had been sitting and laughing opening the last few antiseptic wipes.

"I'm fine"
"Let me clean----"
"What part of I'm fine don't you fucking understand!" He said lashing out at me.

I backed off realising he needed his space. Watching him for a while I soon became aware that he had fallen asleep in one of the chairs. Taking the wipe with me I got close enough and tried to clean his wound. He spoke suddenly scaring the complete shit out of me.

"Touch me with that and me yelling at you will be the least of your concerns."

I more than touched him with the wipe. I scrubbed the wound clean and made sure no infection would set in. With one
