By now, news of the homicides had reached the masses as the presstitutes wasted no time in converging to the office plaza. News trucks lined the street and crews battled for position. They all wanted the best angle, the best quotes to maximize viewership and profit.
The driver informed his client who proceeded to call the office numerous times to no avail.
After being dropped off, the fat man was verbally abused by his driver for once again not paying his wages. The two of them had a heated exchange before the driver sped off in a rage.
Once inside the dimly lit building the fat man headed to the elevators. His heart was beating rapidly and he was sweating more than usual. While waiting for the elevator he wiped his forehead with his handkerchief and immediately after was startled by the building superintendent.
The superintendant informs him that three greys were there earlier looking for him.
The fat man knows his time is limited. Once the elevator arrives he rushes to his appartment to gather his most valuable items and documents but notices his items have been tampered with. Someone has been in his home.
He decides to leave immediately and heads to the door. As soon as he opened the door he was met by the three greys who barged in.
They tied his hands behind his back and took him to the elevator where they went to the top floor and then to the roof of the building.
On the roof of the building the world seemed so serene. The chaos of the city seemed so far away. There is a gentle wind and the evening sun has made the clouds orange.
The greys brought the fat man to the ledge.
On the ledge the fat man started speaking. He explained why he is the way he is and that he does what he does in order to survive in the rat race society. He explained that he is a product and a victim of the system. He blamed the system.
While what he said made sense, the greys knew he wasn't sincere and that he didn't believe any of it and that every word he spoke was a lie. He was a sociopath. And the greys knew that salesmen were the lowest of the low.
But the greys all looked at eachother and nodded. They agreed to spare the fat man, who was extremely grateful, and they all headed back inside.
Back at the apartment, the fat man soon received a call from the police who wanted him to come to the station for questioning. He grabbed his tuxedo jacket and called a taxi to take him there.
The three greys remain at large.
