Bethaney pulled back, mad. She wasn't expecting Amillet to block the attack.
"Lisa, go and look for more help. I'll stay and fight this witch."
Lisa nodded. She flew off as Amillet prepared for a battle against the wicked witch.
"Give me my book of spells."
"I don't have it and if I did I would have burnt it."
"I wasn't talking to you, lost soul."
Amillet eyed the old ghost. "You want to fight, then fight. Spells don't count you evil, old witch."
"That's it. I know you can't die, but I don't care I'll find some way to destroy and your brother."
Bethaney attacked again and grew angrier when Amillet blocked the attack again. It started to sprinkle, but the thunder was sounded pretty threating. Once the roar of thunder sounded, it was as if it were a bell telling them to begin the fight because that's what they did.
Lisa roamed looking for any spirit, human or animal, which could help fight. She noticed two spirits rising out of their graves. She stopped. She didn't know if she should go over to them or not.
One was a man in his mid-thirties, and the other was a man in his early twenties. They both had light brown hair and looked to be related somehow, like father and son or uncle and nephew.
Lisa waited, trying to decide if she should talk to them.
Once both men were out of their graves, they each sat on the tombstones as if they were stools. They started talking and laughing.
Lisa swallowed and decided to walk over to them. "Excuse me?" she asked, making her way over to them.
They both stopped in the middle of their conversation and looked up at the woman.
Lisa noticed that they both had light brown eyes.
The older man's hair was short than the younger man's was. The younger man's bangs dropped over his forehead and almost covered his eyes.
"How may we help you, miss?" the older man asked.
They seemed to be nice but Lisa knew that she couldn't trust them just yet. "Um.... There's a war coming and I'm looking for spirits to help.... Would you...."
The older man sighed. "Look, miss, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I don't want to be placed in the middle of the war."
"Sorry," the younger man replied, "me and my uncle don't want to fight."
"Oh...." Lisa made herself cry. "I see.... It's just that the guardians need help to.... To protect the cottage.... The living are in the cottage...."
"The living?" the younger man asked. Lisa nodded, pretending to wipe tears from her eyes.
The younger man looked at his uncle. "I'm sorry, uncle, but I don't want to see the living suffer."
The man's uncle looked at Lisa then to his nephew. "Okay, Logen." The older man stood up and turned his attention to Lisa. "Then it's settled.... We'll help you, miss. We don't want anything to happen to the living."
Lisa smiled. "Thank you.... Thank you so much."
William walked over to an old, dusty chair and sat down. He was getting tired of waiting for his sister to show up.
Jake walked over to a wall and leaned against it as he pulled his cell phone out to check the time. "Man, it's already 6:30 pm."
Thomas looked over at him then to his watch. "Dude, it's only 2:00.... You set the phone time to the computer time, didn't you?"
Jake thought about it. "Oh man that's right the time on the computer isn't the right time."
Angela and Katlin started laughing. "Jake, you are a moron," Angela told him
"That hurts coming from my girl."
Everyone started laughing. There was a little whimpering noise and no one knew where it was coming from.
Mia walked over to one of the rooms and opened the door. She smiled at the sight of a little, black and white, husky puppy. "Awe...." She walked over to it and kneeled down. It kind of backed away from her in fear. "Hi there, little guy." It leaned against the wall the back end of the little puppy was outside of the wall. "It's okay...."
"Awe, Rascal. What are you doing here, little guy?" William asked, making his way over to the dog. By that time everyone was in the room, looking over at the ghost puppy.
When the dog seen William, he moved into the room, wagging his little black and white tail with his tongue sticking out. He barked a couple of times before jumping up. He wanted to play.
"What happened to him?" Mia asked.
William looked at the puppy and then to the gang. "The living who owned his mother didn't want to deal with the litter of puppies she had. They decided that it would be best to drown them in the river rather than looking for good homes for them. Rascal and his brothers and his sisters suffered a terrible fate. Amillet found him. My sister loves animals, especially dogs, and she just had to keep him. He loves peo--- well spirits, seeing that everyone who’s usually here are dead." He smiled as the ghostly puppy ran out of the cottage and then run back in with a stick in his mouth.
AlliesAmillet and Bethaney kept fighting as the rain started pouring down. Light shone from each of them. Amillet was a bright gold color whereas Bethaney was more of a black color. The sound of metal ran through the grave yard as their swords hit against each other. It didn't matter if they were dead or alive but the fight had dragged out long enough that each of them where losing energy.
Bethaney swung and torn Amillet's dress which quickly fixed itself.
"Give up, Amillet," Bethaney told her.
"No...... I will not let you win."
Then they heard the sound of howling in the distance. Bethaney knew she was in trouble the spirits of warm blooded animals weren't on her side. A ghostly grey, light golden wolf attacked the witch from behind, causing Bethaney to give up. "Fine. I'll be back later." Bethaney vanished without another word.
The wolf howled as Amillet fell to the ground. "That witch."
The ghostly wolf walked over to Amillet, licking her face. Amillet laughed.
"Thank you." She stood up and Lisa had appeared with the two men.
"So far these are the only two I could find to help."
Amillet looked over at Logen and his uncle. "Hello."
"Hello," Logen replied. "I'm Logen and this is my Uncle Craven."
"It's nice to meet the both of you."
"You are one of the guardians, aren't you, young lady?" Craven asked.
"Yes, sir. I'm Amillet. My brother's inside of the cottage. We must go and let him know that we have help from two spirits, plus this wolf. He can call his pack to help us. Bethaney can't use him or other warm blooded creatures which works to our advantage. Let's get to the cottage...."
"You can't just go without me...." A voice said from behind Amillet.
She turned around to see a man in his late forties. He had lost a lot of his hair and had sky blue eyes. "Quinn?"
"Yes, my young cousin.... Did you forget me or something?" he asked.
"No, it's just been so long since I've seen you. Me and William where placed here before you came back from New Hampshire."
"Well, it's a family reunion. What's so important about protecting the cottage now anyways?"
"The living are among us.... They have done some things that they shouldn't have had because now we have a problem. The spirits are waking up before time allows them to. It's a real problem."
"Well count me in." Quinn smiled.
Rascal had been playing tug of war with the three living girls while the guys had made their way back into the small living room.
William looked out of the window, watching the rain. "Man, everything was so peaceful until you guys came and woke us up." He turned his attention to the three guys. "I don't know if you're going be able to leave."
"Because we'll die if we do.... We know you and you're sister already told us," Thomas replied.
"No you don't get it. If the spirits don't kill you, that storm will."
"Well, we're not stupid so we're not...."
"Thomas," Bowergaurd gently said, "listen to William. He knows what he's talking about. Him and Amillet had fallen victim to the storm. He knows what he's talking about so don't blow him off as if you understand. He's warning you, like I had tried to warn him and Amillet."
By this time, Amillet and the others had walked through the walls, even the wolf had followed. He howled at the ghost and the ghostly howl had a frighten sound that made the three guys jump.
"So far this is our help," Amillet said.
William hadn't noticed Lisa. "Quinn, you're going to help?"
"Of course, anything for my cousins," Quinn answered with a smile.
"William, these two are Craven and his nephew Logen."
"It's nice to meet you two."
Lisa flew through Mark and hugged onto William as tears went streaming down her face. "I thought I'd never see you again."
William smiled and returned the hug. "I'm so glad you're here."
"Let me guess, you're girlfriend?" Mark asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Lisa, these are three of the living...."
"William, where are the girls?" Amillet asked, worried.
"Don't worry, sis. They're in your little room, playing with Rascal.... I think they fell in love with him."
Amillet sighed in relief. She didn't want to have to go back outside after her battle with Bethaney.
"Amillet?" Mark asked.
"What?"
"What's the deal with wolf?"
"Warm blooded animals work with us. For the smallest mouse to the biggest bear, they work for use no matter what. He's on our side."
"Oh...."
"And Bethaney can't use them against us. It's hard to explain to the living."
The wolf howled again.
"Listen as he howls. He's calling for help from other pack members who have died along with other furry creatures which can work along our side."
The wolf listened to see if he could hear the call of others.
"The spirits of the animals can walk around any time of day where as we only roam at night."
The girls walked out from Amillet's room with Rascal running in front of them.
Lisa walked over to Amillet noticing that the girls were wearing pants and t-shirts. "It's a weird time."
"What do you mean?" Amillet asked.
"The girls are dressed like boys."
Amillet nodded. "You're right. I think we've been dead for too long." She smiled.
Lisa returned the smile.
"I think that they have a good idea though."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, maybe it's a lot easier to fight dress like a man rather than in a dress."
Katlin walked around introducing herself the ghost who have arrived. She made her way over to Amillet and Lisa.
"Maybe you're right."
An idea popped into Amillet's head. "Maybe we should change."
Angela heard what Amillet
