This is a short script that I wrote for my 'Dramatic Writing' Module on my university course. As with my other University books I have put my commentary at the end to give people an insight as to how I work. The Commentary starts on Page 20.
“GET OUT OF THE WAY!” Doctor Sara Ophelia yelled. Three doctors ran down the hallway with a young boy on a stretcher, an ambulance had just picked him up from a car crash. A garbage truck had run a red light and nailed a family in a mini-van. The boy was the only one who survived, and if they didn’t him to an operating room and clear this shrapnel from his spine none of this family would survive. They pulled into the room, tore off his shirt, and started the removal.
The story opens in Melbourne in the mid 21st Century, as the world is on the brink of a calamitous nuclear conflict. Our hero, Simon Redhead, is a young university student who is unaware that his genetic make-up has conspired to make him a manifestation of the 'Everlasting Hero'. Simon is saved from the forces of evil that are also looking for him and taken to FirstWorld, where he learns about its history and the eternal battle between Law and Chaos into which he is to be thrust. Story of a boy sent to Earth from his home world and gifted with unique powers. Raised by his Uncle, hiding his powers from the world, Jason Shard lives a normal, human teen life. Practicing his abilities in secrecy for years, Jason is finally permitted to become the mask hero of the planet, only to find that there are bigger threats looming in the shadows. Jason must gather the strength needed to face the darkness of death and betrayal, as well as embrance the love and compassion from family
