With the Arab countries of Egypt, Morocco and the OMAN we were able to gain very different experiences regarding the behavior towards foreign tourists. In Egypt, we noticed the great need for security, as evidenced by the armed police convoy escorting us through the desert to Luxor. The Moroccans were extremely hostile. While in the OMAN a great tolerance and friendliness was felt.

Although we were already in several cultures on the road, we found it in Morocco not easy to find our way with Islamic lifestyle.
