I have tried to write a short story about this on many separate occasions, but I never felt I could truly get the emotions I wanted across accurately. So, after listening to a spectacular poem by a young talented writer here on Bookrix, I thought maybe a poem was the way to go. I have never written a poem before..literally ever. I'm not sure if I'm completely doing it wrong. But ultimately this is just an indulgent vent to me. But none the less, here it is for the interverse to view.

In the year 2020, things have changed. The atmosphere outside is toxic, and people are forced to reside in a complex where they are allocated jobs. When they can no longer do these jobs, or when they are judged to be too much of a tax on the very limited resources left, they met the Keeper. One man decides to make a stand.

It's just a supermarket trip, right? But nothing is ever easy with the stares, the looks, and the quiet comments. Not when she is with him, not when she feels as though she is walking on shattered glass.

The game is on, but one of its participants has no idea that she is even in the game. Jealousy can be a dangerous emotion when installed into the right person. It can consume, it can hurt and it can ruin lives. *this story was made in part to draw attention to the importance of protecting yourself online.
