"Keiyona stop talking on the phone and start studying!" my dad said. Before we start, you must know that I am 11 years old and i love purple, blah blah blah. My dad is very overprotective, but not as much as my mom.
"Ok!" I yelled back.
I hung up the phone.
BOOM! THUD! I had fallen down. I tried to get up, but I was on a pile of old pictures. Finally, I got up. But I noticed that there were some pictures stuck to my arms. I unstuck them and they were pictures of a girl with my mom and dad and a baby. In sharpie, it said,"What A Happy Family! Too bad That's Gone!" I was confused at first. But then I realized the baby was ME. But, who was that girl? And how come she was on everyone of the pictures? Was she related to me? I turned one of the pictures over. It said in purple ink, "I'm running away, don't ask why. Just tell Keiyona never to look for me. Infact, don't even mention that she has an older sister. {mom} You had always wanted me to leave and now you've got your wish. {dad} You always shouted at me because I wasn't smart. So, I'm leaving. {mom and dad} Bye, and never look for me. With tons of hatred, Lexi Deb." That girl is my sister. She ran away. But why? I just want to find out why from my parents. Like, right NOW.
I rushed downstairs to the living room. I saw my mom cooking.
She turned around and said, "GO STUDY!"
"NO!"
"otherwise..."
"WHAT? YOU WILL RUN AWAY TOO?!"
"so you do know..."
"OF COURSE I DO KNOW I HAVE THE PICTURES IN MY HAND!"
"Honey.."
"WHERE IS SHE?"
"I dont know. She took $5000 and left. We gave her that money."
"WHY?!" I was almost crying.
"Everything is on the back of that picture."
"I know THAT."
"I can't believe you were so mean to her. YOU DIDNT APPRECIATE ANYTHING SHE DID!"
"We did. We got pissed with her. She ran away. Honestly, I don't even know if she is alive or not."
"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?"
"We wanted you to focus on life not on her."
"you know what i think? I THINK YOU ARE THE WORST PARENTS EVER! ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS STUDYING!"
"That's not true..."
"IT IS!"
I thumped back in my room. I slammed the door shut. I noticed something instantly. The rooms were painted purple and had marks on them. Tiny writings. I took a magnifying glass. One of them read: AUGUST 22,2010 is when I will leave. Another read: Leave at 6 AM. Wake up at 4 AM to pack belongings. The one off to the very corner of the wall read: Go to Bombay, India with $5000.
