Hey. My name is Andy. Andy Sanders. If you call me by any other name, especially Adrianna, I will punch you into next week. I can't give you much of an introduction because I have to go meet my psycho therapist, Jeanie. Whatever. I have blonde hair, I'm 5"5, 13 years old, and I have brown eyes. My mom just died. She had cancer. That's why I have to see Jeanie. My dad thinks I'm not coping. Whatever. I am coping!
Jeanie says I'm not coping, either. Screw her. She is out of her mind, anyway. You know what she said to me when I first saw her? "Hi Adrianna. How's your mom doing today?" Really? My mom? She's dead you dur! That's why I'm here. And she called me Adrianna. My name is Andy.
"Maybe you have the wrong patient. My name is Andy Sanders. My mom is fine. She's dead. Cold, buried. Gone..."
"It says on your file your name is Adrianna." Jeanie said."And I know your mother is dead. But how is she
?"
"Look numb-skull," I began as I stood, "My name is Andy. My mom is dead. How the heck am I s'posed to know how she's doing. I'm out of here. Your a loo-loo. Peace, therapist-lady."
"Sit. My name is Jeanie. What's yours?" she asked with a smile.
I lowered myself down and landed on a rock-hard beige chair. "I just told you. It's Andy."
Jeanie scribbled something down on a legal pad, crossed her legs, and looked at me. "It's not good to slump, Andy. It can cause back problems."
I could feel myself flush. I straightened my back reluctantly. "What is your mothers name, Andy?"
"My mommas name was
Silvia Sanders. What's it to ya? And quit writing in that stupid notebook before I punch your face in! Your lucky I didn't when you called me Adrianna." I snarled. I crossed my arms and watched her scribble in her little legal pad. I made a fist and stood up.
Jeanie glanced at me and chuckled lightly. "Even if your mother is dead, she still has a name. She has a grave, she has a corpse. You have a fist, I have security..."
And so began my weekly visits with Jeanie Whack-a-Doodle. Great.
