"About what?"
"A dream I had."
"Oh?"
"Yup, It was really weird."
"What happened?"
I froze, not sure if I should tell him the truth or not.
“It’s alright if you don’t remember every little detail.” He said with a smile, “I can tell it’s bothering you, so why don’t you go with us. We are going to get the supplies to fix your room.”
My room was down the single hallway, to the right. My room smelt of wet dog and was growing with mold. The carpet was wet and cold, while the walls were pealing apart. There was a large hole in the wall between my room and the bathroom. The rather small door was falling off its hinges, absolutely crawling with cobwebs.
I sighed, “What are we getting first.”
“First we are going to rip up your carpet and take off that ridiculous wall paper. We have hired someone to get rid of that mold. He will be here in about ten minutes. Then we are going to fix that hole in your wall. After that we will repaint your room and fix the door. Finally we will furnish your room.”
“We are going to do all that today?”
“We are sure going to try.” Elya came around the corner dressed in a short flowery dress. Her long, brown hair was pulled up into two braids tied by light blue ribbons.
“There she is,” Dad said gliding over to her, “My beauty.”
“Oh, stop!” She smiled and laughed.
“Come on baby, dance with me!” I have to admit I had never seen Dad so happy. Play time was over as soon as the door bell squawked to life.
“Oh,” Elya said fixing her hair. That must be the mold guy. Uh, I will get it.” She strode over to the door and opened it to a very large, fat man that smelt of smoke and beer. His smile revealed stained, yellow teeth. He had a large beard and looked absolutely filthy. Surprise was etched into Elya’s face as she welcomed him in and told him all about the mold filled rooms.
“Sure,” He grunted. “I’ll have it cleaned up in no time.”
“Great, thank you. We are going to run some errands, we will be back.”
“No, don’t mind me. You take as long as you want.”
“Thank you.” And with that, the journey began.

Chapter 3

I lay in my new bed under my new scratchy sheets in my new light purple room. An old fan turned over and over and over and over again until I was forced to turn it off. Dad came into the room and sat on the edge of my bed.
“What do you think?” He asked.
“It looks great.” It was true. The hole in the wall was gone along with all the cobwebs and mold. The carpet smelt fresh and clean and the door was back on its hinges. I the corner of the room sat a bookshelf, complete with a single book, and an empty closet. There was nothing on the dresser along with the side table. There were no pictures on the wall, and no particular theme to the room. The only thing that really bothered me was the squeaky window.
