I sadly left him, heading towards Sara.
Forcibly, I pushed Julia away from Sara, Julia hitting the ground.
Turning, I saw Graham. As a zombie.
Well, not fully morphed, yet.
Him heading towards Sophia, made me rush to her.
He was so close, though. And I was so far away.
Graham, Sophia's boyfriend, attacked Sophia.
She fell, crying, frightened.
I whipped my head around and didn't know what to do, what to say.
I cried again.
More friends being attacked? Hopefully not.
Grace and Maura were running, along with Helen. At least they weren't being attacked.
Friends being zombies, I couldn't get used to that. Not today. Not ever.
Within a blink of an eye, I was surrounded.
V
Zombies, four of 'em.
Around me. Watching me. I was afraid, very afraid.
However I couldn't just spend my time sobbing like an idiot.
I had to take action. My hand gun? Over by Cyrus' body, where I dropped it.
One of the four zombies flew to the side, falling on the hard concrete.
Through the open gap, I saw Michael.
He . . . saved me?
I guess.
Getting back into fighting stance, and out of "caught in the moment" stance, I raced through the gap between two zombies.
Getting to Michael, we exchanged looks.
"Thanks," I said to him. "For . . . saving me."
He nodded.
The silence, broke, by a zombie (of course).
How, you ask?
Well, Michael was throwing to the floor, right in front of me.
Michael, getting transformed into a zombie, I ran away. Quickly, but worried.
Confused, much? Well, Michael and I aren't the best of friends. However, I'd care if he got attacked by a zombie!
Now, I had to seriously find Amelia and Sara to talk to them. Before anyone else got killed . . . at least so I don't have to witness it.
"Amelia!!" I screamed. I actually found her! Between all the blood, fog, zombies, and panicky people, you could barely find a building.
Amelia turned around, noticing me from the distance. Screaming back, she said, "Olivia!! I found Sara- she's with me! Come here!!"
I did as told, and caught up with them.
"What are we going to do?!" Sara asked, sounding panicky.
"I don't know . . . But I think we should go with our plan we made," Amelia told us, practically screaming.
"No! Our plan says to leave and I can't leave! WE can't leave all of our friends! They're going to die!" I screamed. By now, all three of us were pretty much sobbing.
"Olivia, we need to save ourselves. Our friends . . . They . . . They can save themselves. Olivia, trust us, this is the best thing to do right now. We'll rush to the beach club in a minute," Amelia explained.
"Okay . . . Fine. But give me like ten minutes, so I can do what I can."
Sara and Amelia nodded and went their own ways.
Taking a deep breath, I looked around.
Put yourself in my shoes.
What would you do if you suddenly found out your town has been filled with zombies? And the worst part is, all your friends are the zombies. Yet, there's more. Most of your friends are getting killed right now.
Spotting Tess and Kira running, I smiled, knowing they would make it.
Blinking, and not believing my eyes, Tess suddenly fell. Kira, too.
A few zombies did that creepy walk towards them, as they both tried to crawl away.
Just seeing the zombies go in and attack them, was tough. However, seeing them coming out was worse. How? Because Tess and Kira were in the group. Of zombies.
Throughout this whole time, I've been doing some what a lot, and some what nothing.
On the bright side, I haven't died yet.
I noticed that Grace and Maura hid behind bushes. Helen, Anna, and Kate, too. They were all in the same area.
"Yo, Olivia!" Someone called. Sara. "Ten minutes are up!"
Running towards her, I made sure I was far away from any zombie. Even what used to be my friends.
"I'm really sad about this whole thing . . ." Amelia confessed. "I mean, a lot of people died. Strangers, and friends."
"I know, it's sad." Sara comforted her, while Amelia started to cry.
"I seriously wasn't expecting this . . . I don't think anyone was." I told them.
About five guys from our grade were trying to fight back at the zombies. They couldn't.
They all were thrown, and the zombies got 'em.
Amelia told me with her hands to c'mon. I looked around, at what was my town . . . Now what is this zombie habitat.
Helen's brown eyes peeking through a shrub, watching the three of us. We were close to the only ones left. An thts why we needed to leave: we were a direct target for zombies.
"C'mon!" Amelia yelled, not being mean.
We followed her. She was leading us towards the beach club. However, it would take a while to get there from cTown.
"Hurry!" Amelia screamed, from a few feet ahead of us.
"We're running as fast as we can!" Sara yelled back at her.
"Well, try harder!" Amelia looked back at us as she turned to go on the next street.
"What's with you lately?" I asked her, trying to sound a little mean.
"Look, there's zombies behind us." She explained, stopping and pointed behind us. "If we don't run, we're gonna die. Got it?" She snapped. We quickly agreed, not trying to fight. "Guys . . . I'm sorry. I'm just as terrified as you guys are. However . . . We seriously need to act fast."
"Let's go," Sara told us.
We were now entering the manor. As we got closer, I felt more terrified.
The grocery bags were nearly about to burst; we stuffed so much food into each bag. It made me hungry, and that's when I looked behind me.
Since all three of us were practically in a line, running, I expected to look back and see no one.
To my surprise, I spotted a whole bunch of zombies.
Now running across the bridge to reach the beach club, I started to wonder. What if we were the only ones? The only ones who acted fast and did something.
"Guys, were here! Now the zombies are directly behind us so we have to grab one canoe each. Go, now!" I ordered.
Forgive me for not mentioning this earlier, but we brought items. Our pets, and some "utilities" like electronics and stuff.
I had the food, Amelia had the electronics, and Sara had our pets.
We dropped all the bags we were each responsible for into the canoe we each grabbed.
For example: Sara grabbed a canoe, she's going to put the pets in there.
"They're getting closer!!" Sara screamed with fear.
With the canoes now tied together, thanks to Amelia and some rope, they were all lying on the sand. Ready to set sail.
Now getting back to Sara's statement, I laughed as I said, "Too bad zombies can't swim,"
Pushing the boats into the cold, river water, Amelia laughed a little.
"What?" I asked, sounding more relieved.
"It's funny- we started watchin' a zombie movie, and now zombies are practically invading our town. Maybe more towns," Amelia explained, not giving the best explanation.
"What 'cha trying to say?" Asked Sara, poping into our conversation.
"I don't know . . . It's just so weird. Think about it- zombies took all of our friends and probably family," she spoke up, turned around to face the water ahead of her.
" I know it's really weird," I agreed with her. " and you were right
