Ex looked up at him, tears soaking his face. “It doesn’t matter anymore.” He remarked.
“Were you from Earth?”
Ex furrowed his brows. “Y-Y-You’re from there too?” He asked. “You’re f-from Earth?”
Ajax threw the spear to the side, appalled that he was about to kill somebody from Earth. “Uh… who is your president?”
“D-Donald Trump,” Ex croaked.
Ajax’s eyes widened, turning away from Ex. He faced Beelzebub, now begging for her mercy on both people. “He’s from the same place as me. He must’ve been summoned here by that lady.” He pointed at Brooklyn. “I’m sorry… but I cannot kill another Earthling.”
Beelzebub approached him, the height difference apparent. “You reject my order? You are my subordinate, Demon Lord Ajax? How do you dare defy me?”
“Master, can we ignore that for a moment?” Kenan asked.
“Why?” Beelzebub snarled.
“Because it looks we’ve been surrounded by Lord Elaine, your rival’s subordinate, and her soldiers.”
Beelzebub looked at the trees around them, noticing some eyes staring at her. “Fine… we'll ignore this matter for now. However, we’ll discuss it later. Let’s go and deal with them. Let’s kill them all!”
Episode 65 "Six Sides S1 E6 - Vicirus"The carriage continued for some time until it was time to disembark. They were reaching the Demon Plain, a hellish red and black field full of dried-up ponds and burnt trees. The land began as a normal field but was corrupted by demons and changed into its present-day state. Many rumors flew around that the T-Savages were the cause behind the change, but none of them were confirmed and left, simply, as rumors.
Baron, who stood a few feet from the carriage, surveyed the scene. The Demon Plain was ever-expanding and efforts to stop it had failed. The only solution they could think of was to find the cause behind the demonizing and to get rid of it, or at least that’s what Ashlie told Baron during the trip.
Woah, everything’s dead. Gage remarked.
Everything’s alive… it’s just been demonized. Blade chimed in. I can heal it if you let me out.
“No!” Baron exclaimed, getting some glances from Ashlie, Catie, Rock, and the others. They looked at him strangely, questioning his outburst. “Sorry… forget about that.” He turned away from them, shielding himself from displaying his embarrassment.
Come on, you get embarrassed from one word? Weak. Blade said.
Watch your tongue, Blade. It makes sense for him to feel embarrassed. It doesn’t make him weak. Gage argued.
“T-Thanks, Gage. As for you, Blade, I’m not letting you out again. I’ll deal with this problem on my own.” Baron insisted. He then turned around, facing the others. They began their adventure into the Demon Plain. They were looking for any irregular signs that pinpointed the location of the treasure, which was theorized to be corrupting the land. Rock led the way, ordering the other guards around to secure Ashlie and Catie. They were of great importance, more than anybody else’s life there.
“Secure both VIPs, don’t let them move on their own!” Rock ordered. “Bare your fangs at anything that moves. There have been countless adventurers that traveled here that were consumed by this land. Let’s not add ourselves to that long list!” He joked, getting a few chuckles from his men. He used the joke as an efficient icebreaker to ease his men’s tension.
Rock turned around, satisfied at his men’s work, and continued to lead the way. He brandished his iron sword, holding it close to his chest, and looked around for any threats to his group’s safety.
Meanwhile, Baron followed up behind them, brandishing his katana. He wandered farther into the Demon Plain with the group, spending several tens of minutes roaming around until the scenery changed slightly. They reached the core of the plain which had blues and purples mixed in with the established reds and blacks of the area.
Rock stopped the group’s progress, hesitating to go any further. “Ma’am? I… I don’t think we should press any further.”
Ashlie nodded. “Is that a suggestion or an order?” She asked.
“Suggestion, ma’am. I don’t think it’s safe to go any further than this. We should give up on the treasure. It’s not worth our lives.”
Ashlie shook her head. “I need this treasure. We keep moving forward.” She insisted.
Rock nodded his head, biting his lip. The aura I feel is… suffocating, but I can’t disobey her. Let’s hope that the Godly Beings watching from above us are presenting us with good luck. He thought. Otherwise… we’re walking into a trap.
Against his gut instincts, he pressed forward. He ventured deeper into the core of the field, which turned more and more purple and blueish. He walked for several moments until he came across a large hill. He stopped twenty feet from the hill, his body refusing to go any further. Ashlie, who stood some distance behind him, furrowed her eyebrows. “W-What’s wrong?”
“I…. I can’t,”
“... Fine, let’s go back,” Ashlie said with a huff. She turned around, signaling their retreat. Rock and his men let out a sigh of relief, turning around instantly. They began walking away from the hill, but they were unfortunate. It was too late to retreat as a person emerged from the hill. It was a person from the giant race, dressed in rags and wielding a battle-ax. The giant approached them, his footsteps shaking the ground as he walked.
“Who are you!” He barked, shaking Rock and the others to the core - even Baron who felt it the worst, falling to the ground but quickly getting back to his feet.
Rock turned around, biting his lip. “Get Ashlie and the others out of here! I’ll give you time to escape!” He exclaimed. He pointed his sword at the giant, which annoyed the horrifyingly tall monster.
“You are here for the treasure, aren't you? Too bad as it’s mine to keep.” He declared, raising his battle-ax high into the air. He let gravity take care of his swing, watching as it cracked into the ground with great intensity. The swing broke into the ground, causing several cracks to form. One of the cracks ran through the group’s path, splitting them apart.
Baron turned to face the giant, shaking his head in disappointment. “A giant? A katana won’t do much.”
I could do it. Put me in coach. Blade remarked.
“No, you’ll do more damage than the giant,” Baron said before glancing at Rock. Rock jumped to his right, barely escaping being absorbed by the crack. “I’ll do my best, but… if it’s as strong as it appears, then it’s going to be a hard fight.”
You got this, Baron. I’m sure of it. Gage said, doing his best to motivate Baron. It worked, even a smudge.
Baron smiled, gripping his katana tightly. “Thanks, Gage.” He said. Catie, who was standing some distance in front of him, heard Gage’s name. She stared at Baron with furrowed eyebrows.
Baron didn’t notice Catie as he was absorbed by the sight of his katana. He kissed the name on the hilt - “Kaitlyn”. “I’ll be with you soon.” He muttered before looking up at the giant. “Gage, if I need your help, I’ll ask.”
Whatever you need, Baron. I’m ready whenever you call. Gage responded.
“Thanks,” Baron muttered before charging forward. He passed by Catie and the guard watching her, reaching Rock’s location. Rock glanced over at Baron with a surprised expression.
“Leave, he’s not your opponent!” He shouted to no avail. Baron ran past him and charged towards the giant, who had brought his sword high into the air for another attack.
Baron pushed himself, running at his full speed. He went for the giant’s leg, racing against time to reach it. The giant threw the battle-ax down at a fast speed that Baron struggled to counter. He pushed his legs into overdrive, just able to escape the attack and reach the giant’s legs. He slashed at the legs, digging deep wounds but none that stopped the giant from moving.
I can help you… put me in. Blade insisted. However, Baron was too occupied with fighting the giant that he didn’t pay attention to him, instead, slashing at the giant’s legs in hopes of crippling him.
Unfortunately, his plan was bearing no fruit. The giant, who was swinging at Baron and struggling at it, was still moving. The monster wasn’t going to be stopped with ease.
Baron put me in. I can tap into Hunger's true talent. We’ll kill him with ease. Blade tried again.
Stop it, Blade. Let him focus! Gage chimed in. Blade grumbled in response.
“Shut up!” Baron shouted as he pierced one of the giant’s legs. Instead of his usual slash attacks, he decided to pierce through the legs which saw instant results. The giant began to limp with the leg that was pierced through, but it wasn’t enough to cripple it. Even so, he continued. He pierced through the giant’s other leg, causing the giant to lose part of his movement. He couldn’t move as fast as he usually could, scowling at Baron for it. “Damn you! I am Vicirus, a T-Savage! How dare you try to cripple me!” He said before raising and slamming his leg. This attack worsened his leg’s condition, but it did what he wanted it to - which is to wound Baron.
The attack sent Baron flying, landing on the ground awkwardly. He felt several of his ribs crack upon impact, getting up slightly to press his hand against the ribs. “Damn,” He muttered as he rose to his feet. “Everything… feels broken.”
“Goodbye!” Vicirus declared with the battle-ax raised high into the air. He threw the ax towards the ground, waiting for the impact.
Baron, with a few seconds to make a decision, decided to give in. “Fine… I accept a personality switch.”
As so do I, Blade remarked. The personality switch was then officially confirmed, quickly taking place with the fleeting moments they had. Baron’s features and weapon disappeared, being overtaken by Blade’s. His scythe, Hunger, appeared and his black hair drained the color out of Baron’s hair.
“Good to be back,” He muttered before looking up at the ax charging towards him. “Let’s show him, Hunger.” He said before bringing the blade of the scythe over his head. The ax collided with Hunger, being deflected.
“Huh?” Vircirus exclaimed, surprised at how a smaller weapon managed to deflect a blow from his ax. “It’s impossible.”
“For an idiot, yes.” Blade said before charging forward. “Hunger, activate Instant Death.” He ordered. He reached the Vicirus’s wounded legs and slashed at them, infecting them with his skill - Instant Death. It was a cheat skill that took a massive toll on their body, but it was necessary.
That’s stupid, Blade. You’ll kill us! Gage exclaimed.
Stop, Gage. I gave him control. Let him act how he needs to. Baron said, shutting down Gage. Gage responded with a defeated sigh, ending the conversation.
Meanwhile, on the outside of their body, Blade sliced at Vicirus’s legs before sprinting away from him to avoid a leg slam. The slam destroyed his balance, bringing him to the ground.
Now on the ground, Blade was given a perfect opportunity. He took it, sprinting forward and climbing onto Vicirus.
“Stop this!” He exclaimed, swinging wildly. He lost his battle-ax during the fall, now left unarmed aside from his fists. However, Blade shredded them with ease before attacking his vitals. He was now at risk of dying to
