The Salsa

"Ohh they love my Salsa. It's been a while since they ate it the last time. And guess what, it's thursday. They are gonna come soon. I don't even know what time is it. I should do it fast." Ella mumbled as she started cutting vegetables. She had 3 kids, a girl, and two boys. Her husband used to work as a real estate agent.
"God! I can't find any onions. I should call David to bring some on a way home. No, I shouldn't, it won't be a surprise meal for them then." She chuckled.
"They love surprises, last year, we bought our kids their favorite gifts on Christmas. The biggest dollhouse, in the town, for Mollie. And a skateboard for Rex and dozen of storybooks for Conor. I can't forget their happy faces, they were up the whole night. Rex played with Mollie, such a good brother and Conor was trying to select the first book to read. What did I get? I got this lovely ring from my handsome husband. It was the second ring he gave me after we got married. Oh, what a lovely day it was, October. We decided this month because it's my favorite and he agreed. Such a perfect husband he is. That ring was good too. Not the pure diamond, but the love was pure. And love is the only thing keeping us together in all the highs and lows. We got blessed with the twins, another happiest day of our lives. We already decorated their room, yellow and blue walls, with different cartoon characters hanging on the wall, the floor was full of toys. And they were crying and crying." She chuckled.
"Then we got blessed with a princess, my daughter. We all decorated her room, it actually felt like a room for the princess. She wasn't that much of a crybaby. Always used to sleep when she felt me next to her. And look at them now, all grown up. but still, they love their mother's Salsa." She mumbled holding her ring finger as the smile appeared on her face. Every thought was escaping her mouth.
"Oh no, I hope jalapenos didn't get burned. There is no burning smell here, everything is alright. They are gonna love its taste. But Rex can't eat spicy food, oh well, once in a while won't do any harm." She mumbled again.
"Why aren't they home yet? It's getting dark outside. Maybe they are getting something for me. Whenever they get late, they get something for me. what am I gonna get today." She chuckled again.
" Salsa is ready." She mumbled.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"How you got into my house?" Her voice was shaking as one of the nurses grabbed her. The other injected her with anesthesia.

"What happened to her?" One of the nurses asked the other.
"She is here for 8 years. Her husband and children died in a car crash. It happens to her once a month. Poor soul." She said.

There was a contentedness on Ella's face, as if her husband and children were back.
