Lilah wakes up refreshed, the day after her 50th birthday: 2013! “Funny,” Lilah thinks, “only two years ago, I was broke and alone!”
She gets out of her comfy bed in her luxury condo. Lilah thanks her angels, scanning the photographs of her husband, their 4 beautiful adopted children and 2 dogs.
Lilah recalls 2011, when her gift of prophesying seemed more like a curse. She could see the future for others; yet, could not see a way for them to change it when the vision was awful. Lilah felt confused, then; how could she help others if she couldn’t change the negative visions to positives?
That night, at midnight, back then, Lilah is greeted by a homeless man, “Lilah, I am Michael,” he declares, “we must talk tonight”. It was a rough area, her birthday, early morning. Lilah is silent and tries to go around him. He speaks again, more insistent.
“I must speak with you, Lilah. I have a gift for you. You only have it for 24 hours.”
Something in the way he spoke comforts her. “How do you know me?”
Michael smiles, “You talk to me every day.”
“Archangel Michael?” Lilah says out loud, “It’s a miracle, right?!”
Lilah beams. Michael, in a prayerful voice, tells her, “You are, for one day granted the gift of prophesying and creation. All the negativity you see in the world and in your own life will be yours to change!”
Gently, he says, “Be warned, if you become bitter, things will go back,” he takes her chin, “Appreciate what you have.”
Lilah rubs her eyes -- she’s on the bench -- alone. 1:00 am: Lilah looks over at an obese woman, across from her on the bus. Lilah sees sadness, loneliness, in her eyes.
“Let’s see if it works!” Lilah thinks. She envisions a different scenario for the woman. The bus abruptly hits a pot hole, shaking hard, Lilah covers her face. She looked up again to see a trim, vibrant woman and a handsome man, holding hands!
Lilah laughs out loud, thinking, “Wow, it works!”
She chooses not to sleep that night. “Whose life to change?” Lilah thought, “Hmm, to wipe out homelessness for the world…and a few things for me!”
The changes don’t happen instantaneously though. That night, Lilah grows bitter and offers up a complaint to Michael.
“Thanks a helluva lot, Archangel Michael! You give one woman her goal weight and the man and nothing for me!”
Lilah is walking, she sees the woman again – obese and depressed. Lilah remembers the rule, about appreciation; she offers a better visualization for the woman. Just then, Lilah’s postal carrier hands her a letter – from the man she was visualizing!
Back to 2013: Lilah is greeted by Oprah Winfrey and her crew. Oprah asks her, “How did you know, as you say in your bestselling book, homelessness would end the next day in 2011?”
Lilah smiles, “We must appreciate what we have. The world can change in a day.”
