I can hear my friends mom saying "I love you, sweetie!" everytime she leaves their house but in my side, i never heard my mom said that three most sweet and overwhelming words. NEVER!
Hi, I'm Regina Howell, my friends call me "Rej" for short and i am 13 years of age. I came from a broken family, my mom and dad separated when i was in 4th grade and that time i have no idea what was goin'on. I grew up and graduated grade school in a small town with my mom and without my dad, and it is really hard to assent that I can't bring my father's presence back -- I can't have a complete and happy family anymore.
Ever since my mom and dad broke up, my mother became very strict and whenever she sees me. Ähhh.. Terror!".
One night I went home late because of an important matter but it seems like it is not very important to my mom. She called me surprisingly, "Regina! Go into your room now!. "Yes mama!"I replied not knowing of what was going to happen next. I seated right next to my bed, my mom went inside and SMACK! Mother hits me on my face and said "You foolish! Why did you go home late? What's the matter with you? Huh?" I answered her saying,"But mom, i was just with my friends and we were just working on our requirements for the enrollment". She spanked me and again yelled Ïf you'll do the same thing tomorrow, I'll send you out of this house!", I just nodded my head and said "Yes mom!". That night I promised to myself that I'll never do that again. I was kinda frightened and traumatized about what mom did to me physically.

It was a sunny day, 8th day of July. I was a 7th grade student at Julson Middle School, it was our first day of classes. While I was on my way to the powder room, I met my bestfriend Lhailanie along the corridors and she joined me on the way to the powder room. We talked about how'd we spent our summer vacation and she told me that they went to Hawaii to visit the tourist attractions, and I can see it in her eyes that she enjoyed her vacation. I was a bit jealous because during my summer vacation I was just babysitting my Aunt Mary's daughter and at the same time i was the one responsible for the house chores. After the talkings we immediately went to our classroom and the class was already starting.
"Trrriiinnngg...". The bell rang which means, class is finally dismissed. Me and Lhailanie bought some junkfoods before leaving the school, while we were walking along the streets , I took the chance to tell Lhailanie about the relationship between me and my mom and fortunately she is a person who cares and who can understand, she also reminded me saying, "Rej, just tell me what your problems are including the problems between you and your mom and i'll try my best to help you". I felt happy when I heard those words coming from my bestfriend's mouth, it's like whenever I'm with her I feel lucky and blessed because God sent me a person that could understand me in many ways.
