In the light of all that happened,
Tearful and red-eyed,
Confused as he rests his chin in palm,
Nailed metaphorically to the shopping cart,
Over-packaged, heaping with junk,
Homeless down the violent path,
The cart rolls over but nothing is dislodged.
He strapped it well to the basket, every last item.
The house with restless foundation,
Constantly on the move,
When it’s cold it’s cold, when it’s hot it’s hot,
When there is precipitation, there is precipitation.
Skin hardened like the animals,
He prowls like one too, eats like one too from the garbage.
