I slid the mask over my head. It fit perfectly. I got up from the chair and slipped on my shoes. I opened the door and walked down the stairs holding up the bottom of my dress. All the eyes turned to me. I knew that none of them knew who I was with my mask on. The ball was in full swing. Ok. So far so good. I haven't killed anyone yet. That's a good sign. I walked to the middle of the ballroom floor. I stood there looking at all the happy couples dancing around me.
"Excuse me miss but may I have this dance?" A man said behind me. I turned slowly. A dark haired man stood there witha a phantom of the opera kind of a mask. His eyes were the color of the moon. He was probaly two or three years older than me. He held out his hand. I slipped my hand into his. He spun me around. We danced to the classical music. We slowed down and slow danced. When he was about to spin me again, at his touch my back shot an aroow of pain to my head. That feeling was all too fimiliar. I had to get away from him or he'll be a pool of blood. He was touching the spot where my wings grow. Usually it's fine. I don't know what's wrong but I pulled away. "I'm sorry but I gotta go. Goodnight." I said to him in a hurry. I raced up the stairs to my bedroom and shut the door leaning aganist it. He can't be good.

My first ballgown lay across my chair. I was back in my barn room pulling on jeans and a shirt.
I needed to get away into the sky where I belonged. Mostly I needed to speak with the dark side.

My wings were thanking me. I'm serious. They flew faster than normal. So it was either two things: 1,they sensed something in the sky that I didn't. 2,they were happy to be free.
I didn't know which, but I was definetly on alert. Ok back to me speaking with the darkside and all. I don't really go to the darkside. Gosh I sound like darth vader. Anyway,there is a mirior in the sky on a cloud (not joking so stop laughing). It's called the mirior of Yin & Yang. My friend lives in the darkside. She tells me if there is a problem.

My mind still hurt at the thought of flying. Jessica gave me her cross necklace to practice flying. Jessica. She was number 14. I flipped open my phone and called Jessica. It started to ring. On the fiveth ring Jessica's voice took over. "Hello?" She said. "Jessica it's Zander."
I said. "Oh Hey Zander! What's up?" She said. "I was hoping that you could come hang out tonight." I said. "Sure. Be right there." She said hanging up. Right before she hung up I heard a guy's voice.....

I knocked on the mansion's door. It opened to Zander's butler vampire(Nicknamed Slow poke). He pointed toward the grand staircase without a word and left. I climbed up the stairs and got to Zander's attic room door. I opened it and walked into the room. Zander was looking out the window into the dark sky. He turned around and looked at me with sad eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked him slowly. "What guy were you talking to?" He asked. Oh so he probaly heard Alikmai's husband in the background when I called him. "Zander, that was Alikmai's husband." I said. "Who's she?" "Alikmai lives in the dark side."

My head was pounding when I opened my eyes. Lexis was leaning over me with Anika in her arms.
"Meeting?" I asked. She nodded. I groaned and rolled out of my comfy bed. I pulled on my boots and necklace. "let's get going I'm meeting Zander later." I said. Lexis summoned the portal and we stepped through to the Shadowlands. The portal closed behind me. Anika wiggled in my arms.
