Chapter one

It all started at a party... A prom, outside on a football field. There were bleachers surrounding the old football field crowded with people. It's night time, and I had just arrived at the party. I'm dressed in a black tuxedo. And I had died my hair black and straightened it. There is music being played by a band onstage and many people have crowded around them. As I walk around the many set tables,I eye one in the very corner with less light and go over and sit at it. As I drink the odd tasting pink fruit punch, I look up into the night sky and sigh, starring into the stars yet again...

Chapter Two

As I glared up at the starry night sky, I noticed a shooting stat passing by.I then closed my eyes and made a wish.. Then I could hear footsteps coming toward me from behind. Simply by reflex, I gripped the knife in my pocket but did not pull it out. As I had gripped the knife, I felt two arms come around me and squeeze me tight, suddenly hearing " Hey gray!!". I let go of my knife, now knowing this person ment no harm. It was jen. A girl who actually had not been afraid to talk to me. When I turned and looked at her, I froze and my jaw dropped. She had always dressed casually through everything, but today she dressed in a formal black dress with a red bow in her hair.she noticed how I wasn't talking and asked " hey, you okay?" and I replied " oh, sorry. I'm just not feeling right today.. That feeling has been coming back since we left from jimmy's place yesterday." She just stands there staring at me. I ask her " hello...?" and she doesn't move .she then points her hand behind me,
and as I turn around to see what she was pointing at, I get suddenly hit
the face, knocking me to the ground. Making me black out..as all the light of the football field faded away, I could hear many screams... Fading away into the darkness.....

Chapter three

I awoke with shock 5 mins later. As light came into view when I opened my eyes, there was a man standing above me. It was Kevin, the kid who decided to take all his anger and stress out on me instead of talking about it. He looked down at me rage. " What do you think your doing gray?? " he then pulls me up hanging me by my studed collar. "I thought I told you to stay away from my girl! Who do you think you are?? Some kind of hotshot??" I didn't sence any fear in him.I thought it was really funny how Jen had walked away and Kevin didn't even notice. He noticed that I wasn't talking, I was too busy trying to reach for my knife.as I got a grip of it, I let go. I knew that if I stabbed him right in the gut (And oh I had my chance) ,his buddies would probably end up hunting me down. I didn't need that to happen. On the other hand, I was sick and tired of him messing with me all the time. So I let go of my knife and just laughed a bit. He then looked at me with even more anger " What? You think this is funny, punk?" He then punches me in the stomach and I gag loudly. Ho could've kicked my heart out if he wanted to.I'm surprised he didn't. He was about to punch me again, when suddenly Jen came back with some guy next to her. She tapped on his shoulder and when he looked over, she smacked him as hard as she could and said "What is your problem Kevin?!?!? Leave gray alone, he's had enough already" Kevin then drops me and I fall back on the ground. Still hurting from that punch, I get up on my feet, look Kevin in the eyes grudgely, and walked away. That was the best thing to do at the time. I could've hurt him but I'm not gonna risk getting in trouble. The pain in my stomach seemed to go away as I sat back down at my table. I could see Jen telling off Kevin from a distance. But her friend was walking over to me. He looked kind of tan, not a muscle guy. Looked average, had blonde short hair. As he came up to me, he sat down in the chair next to me and said " what happened back there? Your just gonna keep letting him treat you like that?" I looked back at him and simply replied " ehh, Its not so bad. I'm used to it."

Chapter four

He frowned a bit and got up, then went to go talk to Jen. Then they both came to me,I don't know what happen to Kevin but I didn't really care at that moment. She stood in front of me and said "I'm sorry about how stupid Kevin was acting.. I tried setting him straight, when he suddenly ran off. I think he was laughing as he left the party." I looked her in the eyes and smiled. It's been a long time since I had a real smile. I hardly knew Jen for 4 years. Yet it seems like I knew her my entire life. I have this strange feeling for her, but I can't explain it... She noticed my smile and smiled back. She already knew I appreciated what she had done. I then stood up, face to face with her, and I hugged her. I realized, she was the only person who was there for me whenever I needed help, and I needed to thank her for that. When I let go of her, I took a few steps back and gave her some room. She didn't say anything, but she stood there staring at me smiling. I don't know what was going on, but I think she liked it.as all this was going on, Jensen friend was looking at us with a "ooo" type of look. I looked at him with confusion ,and Jen had said " I think you've been through enough tonight.so let's make this night better for you" she then grabbed my hand and pulled me with her to the area where everyone was dancing. She grabbed both my hands and looked me in the eyes and started moving in a small swaying motion, and I decided to move with her to make her happy. She put her arms around my neck and rested her head on my shoulders five mins later. I could hear her say "thank you, gray..."
