Prologue

“Zeus, what will we do? I don’t want her to live without you in her life.”Princess Syreia of Kyren said. Kyren is a small country off the Western coast of the U.S.
“I don’t know Syreia honestly I don’t.” Zeus said to his human lover holding in his hands a bundle. He looked down into the burning gold eyes of his 2 month old daughter Maraline.
The beautiful two month old Demi-Godess, Maraline Lee Daniels was destined to be one of the greatest Demi-Gods in exsistance. Maraline’s black hair lay already down to her shoulders.
“My little Maraline, your future is filled with great power. May the rest of the Gods watch over. I shall see you again tomorrow.” Zeus said departing and looking back on his daughter one last time.

“James, you must watch over our Zeke and make sure no harm comes to him.” Athena said to her human mate, handing him the beautiful baby boy she was holding in her arms. James diligently accepted the baby into his arms as a gift from Athena.
“Zeke my son, you are destined for great things someday. May the Gods protect you when I cannot.”James said to the baby in his arms. The notion putting a smile on Athena’s face. Her long brown hair flowed down her back.
“I shall watch over you my son.” Athena whispered disappearing.

In hell the deepest of its fire pits glistened with the anger inside Hades mate, Hera.
“How could he do this to me?” Hera shouted with all the strength she had.
“He’s confused, Hera calm yourself my sweet your upsetting the dead.”Hades replied.
“Those wretched little halflings should have never been aloud to exsist. Hades dear, we shall curse them to an eternity in hell as demons.”Hera said to the very man who was considered the darkest spirit around.
“I shall send for the strongest of my demons to capture the brats and bring them to me.”Hades said to a seething Hera. “Persephone!”
A young woman with long brown hair entered the room a grim smile upon her face.
“Yes, love.”she said.
“Send for Dominix and Hetalia, I require there services.”he said to his “Wife”.
“I shall get on it immediately.”Persephone said.

Hours later the two demons on which Hades had called were there.
“Dominix, I need you and your lovely wife to go capture to children for me. Maraline Daniels and Zeke Jaxson. Hurry too, my Hera is getting upset.”hades said to the couple standing before him.
“Yes we shall be going.”the two said together disappearing from sight. Only to reappear after having captured the two children.
Hades gestured to a table and the two babies were then laid upon it. He looked to Maraline a pleased smile crossing his features.
“Daughter of Zeus we meet at last.” He said preparing for the curse. When all was ready he stood over the little girl and began.
“I call upon the powers of darkest night. Take from this girl her godly life. Life as a demon in its place. Change her at a quickened pace.”he chanted and watched as the little girl before him, transformed. Maraline now had a pair of cat ears and a tail. They had transformed her into a cat demon.
Hera looked to Zeke already knowing how she wanted to handle this one.
“The almighty son of Athena. This little brat is mine.” She said with a grin.
“Athena’s son has caught my eye. I curse him to darkest night. As hes hit with realization, I curse him with vampirization.”she chanted. Zeke’s eyes burst open and he began to wail.

Athena awoke with a cry. Her instinct as a mother told her something was wrong with Zeke and her God-daughter Maraline.
“The curse upon the children reap. Remove from them with creeping speed. Gone unnoticed by the world beneath and hiding it like a sword in sheath. Maralines curse ends at 16 while Zeke’s shall last til age 18.”Athena chanted her reversal unknown to Hades and Hera.
“May the other Gods protect you dear ones, for in your futures protection you’ll need.”She whispered a tear falling from her brown eyes. That night a mothers heart was broken and wouldn’t be fixed until she was certain the children would have the curses broken.


Chapter 1

Mara sat in her bed, draped in black fishnets. The cobblestone walls of Castle Demonix had become a safe haven for her. Darkness swathed her room and she smiled her tail thumping lightly on the bed. Today was her sixteenth birthday and she was so excited it was crazy. She decided that now was the time for her to get out of bed and get ready. She had a life to return to. The whole school knew her as Maraline Daniels, the most popular girl at RiverView South HighSchool. She had been the one to bring about the schools cultural revolution. Bringing together Geeks and Jocks, Cheerleaders and Nerds. It was all her doing. She considered herself proud. Who wouldn’t be proud of such an impossible feat.

She stood on the stone floor, her pink chiffon nightgown falling just below her knees. She walked to the light switch flipping it up. The room was illuminated in a bright light. She smiled and walked to her closet. She pulled her dark blue jeans from a shelf and held then to her in the full length mirror.
“Perfect!”she said with a new sound to her voice. She’d never noticed it before but she would just get over it. She grabbed her hot pink halter top and her black heeled boots. She would be the star of the show today.
Dangling from Mara’s neck was a charm she’d had since she could remember. She’d never known its origin. The charm resembled a lightning bolt with a small star on the tip. What could it mean?
