Chapter 1 Running

No way... this cant be the only way. I thought to myself. But we both know that's not possible with Mr. Big Brains over there.
"I told you to stop calling me that. And yes it is the only way we can go." My older brother said. "Like I always say, 'with every left turn we always make a right.' Now turn left."
"Uh first you never say that, and second, were being chased by Coils. Why left?"
"Because there planning to screw us with a hidden car to the right, and we cant go straight because that's a one way road, so if you just listen to me, go left."
The Matte black 2010 Camaro screech to a left lain, and sped off. Right behind us I heard the cars engines roar, and screech the other way until they were no more was heard. "Where are they going?" I asked Dylan.

"Cops are coming." He said simply, "You didn't hear the other cars honking at us? People were sticking their heads out their windows yelling us to slow down, and swearing." He said woundedly.
"Sorry, I was busy trying to get away. Unlike you just sitting there watching buildings go by like were on a freaking trip." I spat sarcastically.
"Hey, look on the bright side the cops are putting up a show for us." He smiled.
"Those 'flashing lights', are not a show, Dylan, there trying to pull us over. Geez I thought you could read minds, not act stupid."
"Your just in a bad mood and using it on me, and BTW I'm really not stupid, I just like bothering you." He smirked. "Its a big plus that I know where to poke your buttons."
Uh brothers. What am I gonna do with him?
"Not much." He laugh. "But you could get us out of here first."
"Of course I'm going to. You and I both know that." I sighed, "The problem is, its gonna take a hell of a lot to get away and hidden."
"Unless you move them." He hesitated.
       "No, not going to happen."
"Why not? You've done it before."
"Ug, the most I got from it, was moving a paper cup across the table... I don't thing its gonna work here, and even if I was stronger I still wouldn't do it, because it will be exposing the powers in the world. Mass destruction, and the world ends. So it will be really important if they didn't find out. Actually, never would be the best word for it."
"Wow, think of the silver lighting from it, not the dark side... like Darth Vater." He gave out a little shiver. "Now that guy has some serious issues."
I went quiet, while he babbled on about the dude. The cop sirens still whining right behind me. "Hey, what are we gonna do about getting these cops off my trail?"
"I can confuse them!." He said exitedly.
"And now you tell me?" I mumbled ans sighed, "Alright do it."
Three seconds later, the cop cars screech to a stop, cops started running out of their cars screaming.
"What on earth did you do?"
"Ug. if you have to know, they thought they had a phone call saying their wives quit their jobs and started being strippers. And I don't know if their yelling because their mad, or happy." He said with a pleasant look.
       Boys. I thought to myself.
       "Girls." He said out loud.
"Can you stop doing that?" I snapped.
"When you stop thinking, then I'll stop." He paused. "I can read minds, but I still don't get you at all."
"Dylan, your creeping me out." I said, "Now where, Big brains?"
"You know that bothers me, just because I can read minds, doesn't mean I know everything."
"Right now? Yes you do. Now where to?"
"Well since the police are starting to forget what happened. I'd say we find a hiding spot, and fast." He was silent for a second. " Coils are coming to look for us, time to leave."
He sounded a little nervous, but the look on his face never gave anything away.
"I know your gonna hate this," He said and paused, "But were gonna have to ditch this car."
The car screeched to a stop, "WHAT?!?!"
He winced, "Yeah, I know, I know how much you like this car, but hears the bright side, we can wreck in so nobody can have it." He gave a little smile. "It'll be fun!" He sang it out loud.
"Or!" I sang back to him, "I can trade it out for a better one." I said blandly.
He gave me 'the look'. "You have no fun left in you."
"Lets just get out of here first." I mumbled. I'm gonna miss my car.

Chapter 2 Memories

At a car dealership I had to trade in my Camaro in for a stinky old Mercury. The sales guy thought I was nuts for trading in that, but he didn't say anything of course, old weasel. the car almost didn't start, and when we started to drive out the parking lot, I felt sick.

"It's not that bad." Dylan commented. "Its a classic." He said like a cheesy spoke person.

 "It's a piece of junk."

 "Well at least it moves."

"At least it has wheels." I mumbled.

He gave me a smile. "There you go, thinking positive." He gave me a pat on the shoulder. "I'm proud of you."

I slammed my head against the steering wheel. If only mom was here. She'd know what to do.

"Moms gone." Dylan suddenly spoke. Serous.

"Yeah? But what about dad? We haven't heard of him since he told us to leave." I looked at him, "So mom is all that we got left, and shes gone. At least don't take that away from me." I miss her so much.

"I miss her too, but crying about it right now isn't the best thing to do." He paused, "Lets get outta here. Go to a motel, and stay there for a couple days, get out heads straight." When I was a mess Dylan always pulled through, no matter how bad the situation was, or I couldn't think properly. Him having the 'reading minds' thing always helped him in those situations. I took a breath, and he settled my head down, helped a lot. "Thanks." I whispered.

"I got your back sis." He spoke without looking at me. "Always have, always will." I went in to the nearest motel I could find. With the help of Dylan of telling which was being watched by Coils. We payed for a single bedroom with two beds. I fell onto the bed with great lumpy comfort, and sighed. It didn't take long until I fell asleep.

                                                                   *******

I woke op in the middle of the night by a crash a crash. I jumped off the bed, and searched the room to find nobody, only my brother.

"It's alright, just looking for a midnight snack." He said with a grin.

I quickly sat back down on the bed, with a quick sigh. "Be quiet, then. You almost gave me a heart attack, you could wake someone up you know."

"Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

I paused for a second. "Where do you get this stuff? It's not like you read books."

"My darling sister, many people think about the wildest stuff, you catch on to some things."

"Whatever 'those' things are. I'm not apart of it." I rolled my eyes, and looked at the clock. "What the hell are you doing up a three thirty in the morning?"

"Couldn't sleep." He said simply. "This is a crappy motel, their food is over dated, like by four months." he let out a sigh. "Who's up for Denny's?" He said as he shut the fridge.

"I don't think their up this early, But I think there's a twenty four hour Taco Bell."

He gave me a wicked smile. "Really?"

I gave out a sharp laugh. "You and your Tacos."

When we got back, Dylan scarfed down his ten burritos, and I slowly ate my salad. I looked over at the crappy alarm clock and it was almost four twenty. "Alright we have to go to bed." I said as I jumped on the lumpy mattress.

"Hmmm, no, I'm not tired." He said happily. "I think I'm going to read."

"Dylan, we have to get up in like three hours, try to get as much sleep as you can."

"It takes me three hours to go to sleep, whats the point?" He and I both know, that no matter how much I huff and puff, he will win. I sighed.

"See? told you. I'll see you in three hours." He smiled and turned his light on. I got beneath the itchy blanket, put my head on the lumpy pillow, and had the most uncomfortable sleep in my life.

Chapter 3 Little Fun

That was the most three crappy hours of sleep. I looked over at Dylan, he was dosing off with his book still open on his chest.

I kicked the stiff blankets off of me and crept over to him. I was about to pounce when-

 "Don't. You. Dare."

I let out a little yelp and leapt three feet backwards. He started moving, grabbed his book and smiled at me. "What? You think you can scare a mindreader? It's was like your mind begging me to listen." he gave me a half smile.

I looked at him and huffed, "I can't even have any fun with you any more. You'll always know my next move." A thought split-second flashed through my mind. Realization flashed across his face, already started rolling off the other side of the bed, while I started grabbing the hard pillow, and throwing straight at him. I yell in victory as I hit him on his left side of his chest. "Just because you can read my mind, doesn't mean you can move fast enough to stop it." I gave him a happy tight grin.
