I quickly walked down the hall of my new school.It was my first day and I'm sure everyone expected someone normal,not someone from the animal project.I felt they're stares burning into me,they werent glaring daggers,they were glaring machetes.My mind reading ability didnt excactly hold promising news.

I winced at they're thoughts.I wished and prayed so hard over my life to be normal,I wouldnt wish this life upon my worst enemy.
'why does everyone always hate me?' I thought,finally arriving at my class.I scurried in and placed my things on my desk,then quickly sat down.
I heard wispering in the class then flicked my ears towards it.
"she looks like such an idiot" I heard a girl wisper,which was folllowed by a chorus of giggles.
I wish that I could just turn invisible,though since my powers are still coming in and I'm discovering new ones all the time I might be able to do that later.
'At least they cant make fun of how I dress' I thought since the school had a uniform.I looked down at the blue plaid skirt and neck tie,with the button up white blouse.I looked across the room at a boy and studdied the boy version,it was in my nature to observe every detail around me.The only variation between the girls uniform and boys uniform is that boys wear jeans instead of skirts.
Finally the teacher walked in.
"Hello class,today we have a new student" He said gesturing to me,then he got a good look at me,noticed my tiger tail and ears,and froze in shock for a second.I cant really blame everyone for being shocked,after all,people from the animal project only make up 5% of the population.He revovered "would you like to introduce yourself?" He asked me.
'no,not really' I thought,though I stood up and said in a steady voice "Hello,my names Ignio Lavender" Thensat back down.I wasnt going to let them intimidate me.Not Now.Not ever.
As the techer began talking I zoned out.The rest of class was like this,finally the bell for the end of first period rang.I stood and gathered my things before waling out of class and towards my next class,P.E.,I shudered at the thought of that aweful class.
Suddenly,a hand slapped everything out of my grasp.I looked up to see a tall,raven haired girl.
"aww,is the little kitty sad?" She taunted.I said nothing,theres nothing to gain in fighting."What?Cat got your tounge?" She continued.
'ignore the lame cat jokes,ignore the lame cat jokes' I repeated in my head.
The girl smirked and suddenly "SMACK".
I stumbled back in shock,holding where her hand had collided with my cheek,it stung and so did my eyes.It took me a second to realize that I was crying,not out of pain,but at the fact that so many people were watching but no one lifted a finger to help.
The girl smirked at my tears and took a step closer to me,cracking her knuckles.I could easily fight her off and win,but I knew I wouldnt.I would never hurt a person for hurting me.
The girl raised her fist.I closed my eyes and felt a tear slide down my cheek.
'God,please help me' I thought,waiting for the beating.

I heard a loud smack but I didnt feel any pain.I slowly opened my eyes and gaped at what I saw.The girl that was about to hit me was on the ground holding her cheek,another girl stood between me and her.This girl had just saved me from a beating.The girl who saved me quickly turned to me,grabbed my arm,and took off through the halls,dragging me with her.
"where the hell are you taking me?!?" I demanded.The girl looked back at me and smirked.
"we're ditching" She told me.I smiled.
'yes!' I thought 'a day away from this hell-hole!'.I studied the girl for the first time,she had bright red hair in a pixie cut,dark brown eyes,and was wearing the usual uniform except her tie was undone and she was wearing pants insteade of a skirt.I liked the girl already.Whe we ran out of the school doors neither of us paused or hesitated,just kept running.Eventualy,we reached a park and collapsed onto the benches.
"I hate running so much" She complaned.
"I had P.E. next hour anyway,so I guess exercise couldnt be avoided" I sighed.
"I had P.E. next hour too so I guess your right" She said then straitened up "My names Roe Carnahan,whats yours?"
"I'm Ignio Lavender" I could see try to hold in laughter." Go ahead,I know its a weird name" She burst out laughing.
"I'm sorry it's not strange just...unique" She said when she had calmed down.
"Sure it is" I said sarcasticly.She just smiled and shook her head.
"well Ignio,from now on we're Best Friends" She said "and I'm gonna call you Iggy"
"ok then I'm gonna call you-" I paused "no fair,theres no good nicknames for Roe".Roe laughed and stuck her tounge out at me.
"by the way,what was that mean chicks name?" I asked.
"Amelia Carnahan...my sister" She said.My eyes widened.

"not" Roe finished for me chuckling "I know,but she has some good in her,its just,really,really deep".I got a mischevious smirk.
"then we're gonna find it".Roe looked at me and smirked as well,we highfived.
"woohoo,time for evil plotting!" She said fist pumping.
"umm,its not really evil" I said.
"I know but evil plotting is fun to say" She said.I shrugged.
"hooray for evil plotting!!!" We both yelled,fist pumping.

'Well,it's Tuesday,maybe with Roe today will be better?' I thought as.

"oofff" I grunted as I fell on my butt.I looked up and saw a boy with sunshine blonde hair to his ears and warm chocolate brown eyes standing infront of me.I had one thought.'Cute,Cute,Cute,Cute!!!'.What?Dont look at me like that.I'm not prissy,I'm just a teen girl,and this guy is hot.So yes,I did squeal in my head.
"Sorry,I wasnt looking where I was Going" He said,holding out his hand to help me up.It took me a secong to realize that 1.)He wasnt Ignoring me.And 2.) He wasnt making fun of me.Mental fist pump.
"Well then pretty boy,stop day-dreaming in la-la-land would you?" I spat,ignoring his hand and getting up on my own.He seemed shocked at my reaction.
"W-w-well I-I-" He began stammering before I cut him off.
"What?suprised that I didnt fall to my knees and start worshipping the ground you walked on?" I growled.He was to stunned to move as I stomped off.
Once I was into the empty girls bathroom I slid down the wall crying.A cute boy is nice to me one time and I react like that!?!
"whats wrong with me?" I asked myself between sobs.
"absolutely nothing!" I heard a familiar voice yell.In a secong Roe was at my side wiping my tears."I saw the whole thing,that was a new experience for you so you reacted with hostility,that is completely normal!".I smiled a bit at my friends attempt to cheer me up.At least I still have one good thing to look foreward to,seeing my bestfriend.
