and the three siblings rose to their feet and glared at him. He smiled with a great amount of pleasure. “Joseph Randall.”
Edward let out a shout and drew both of his sisters to him. They clung to each other several minutes as they took in this information. The lies were finally over! They were free of the damage Marina Grey had wreaked over their lives. If there was any regret, it was that their parents had not lived to hear the truth.
“There was never a reason for him to give me up,” Evelyn said sadly. “How could that woman be so heartless? I could have known my father, my mother, my brother, and my sister all these years.”
“She’s paying for some to that now,” her husband said as he put his arms around her waist and leaned his cheek against hers. “You have your siblings now, sweet. I have a feeling the Randall family will be quite close from this generation on.”
“One thing could make this truly a blessing,” Lily teased her brother. “There is an Ivanescu who would be quite happy if you would look her way.”
“Wouldn’t that be like incest if I married your cousin-in-law, sprout?” Edward laughed. He hid the fact that he and Claudia had been spending quite a bit of time together since they had met. It was too soon to make any predictions as to how their relationship would go. He would never admit to his impish sister that he hoped it was all the way to the altar.
“Such a union would show that the Talbot and the Randall families have created members with excellent taste,” Gregory said as he sat next to Lily. He jumped as the babies kicked him. “What are our children doing in there, woman? Wrestling?”
“They are eager to be with the rest of us,” Lily smiled at him. “Our children,” she sighed, “may they never experience the kind of heartache and betrayal that we have.”
“If they do,” Gregory corrected, “may they have inherited their mother and aunt’s deep loyalty and generosity of heart.”
