a small smile.
“Yes ma’am! See you then. Now you better go before I make you late.” I said, shaking her hand and then giving her a slight shove towards her third period class. I watched her leave, her hip shaking…sigh… Suddenly, I was snapped out of my reverie by the ringing of the late bell. Crap.
~Two Periods later~
“Class! We now have a new student, Miss Amanda Paige. Could you come up to the front for a moment and tell us about yourself?” the teacher said, beckoning Amanda to come forward. She came skipping down the aisle between desks. With a dramatic turn, Amanda faced the class with the goofiest grin. She was so adorable, I almost died!
“Hey there everybody! I’m Amanda Paige but you can just call me Amanda! I just moved here from London so I have no idea where anything is! So if you see me somewhere looking totally lost, it’s because I am and I’d love if you could help me! My favorite things in the world are fish and chips, owls, and Light Yagami! Nice to meet you guys!” She said enthusiastically.
“Thank you Miss Paige. Now, is there anywhere you would like to sit?” The teacher asked. I saw several girls around the room motion towards empty desks near them, but she didn’t even look their way. Instead, she crossed the room to where I was seated and plopped her bag down in the seat across from me. She must be an angel! This can’t be real! She smiled and gave me that cute little wave of hers. I looked around the room. Everyone was staring daggers at me. If looks could kill… I cleared my throat and turned to her, whispering,
“I don’t know if you really want to sit there. It could really ruin your chances at getting friends. I’m not exactly Mr. Popular.” She gave me an, are you stupid? look and turned towards the front of the class. I died right then and there. This girl really was heaven sent. It was fate, I was sure of it. Maybe this year wouldn’t be so bad after all…
