Dance is...freedom and expression. Whether you are in sorrow, or just want to take your frustrations out on the world, that's the way to do it. There's no other way around it: dance is an art. It takes dedication no matter what kind of dance you're into--Ballet, Hip Hop, Pop--Whatever. You don't even need to have music playin'--y'know--you could just have a song that won't leave your head and you can find your feet moving to it. They even make movies about this stuff, man. It's all around you no matter where you go. Dance is life...and I wanna live it.
I make my way through the usual crowd at BEATS dance club and sit at the bar. "Jas, great to see you tonight. Let me guess, the usual lime twist on the rocks?" The bartender asks. "That'd be great, Will." I nod. Suddenly I hear scurrying platforms heading my way. I turn around to see Taylor with her milk-chocolate arms wide open. "EEEEEEEEE! Hay giiirl!" She cries as she hugs me. "Taylor, great to see you." I say hugging her back. She then sits next to me as Will sets my drink down. "Will, give me a Wild Citrus Crush." Taylor gestures. "Comin' right up." He smiles behind his frames. "So, how's the business goin'?" I ask. "Goin' good girl, doin' good. Y'know, they promoted Laurell?" Taylor replies. "Really!? Get-OUT!" I cry, shaking her arm in excitement. "Yeah, she was really shocked considerin' she was struggilin' a little bit." Tasha nods. "So, is she here?" I ask, looking out at the dancing crowd. "No, I guess she wanted to celebrate quietly. Though I insisted on treating her to dinner tomorrow." I took a sip of my beverage before saying, "It's really good you could come here tonight. It's a real bummer that you can't make it here more often." "It's good to be here, you have no idea how the firm is workin' me. Though, y'know...you could have the same thing." Taylor looked at me. I closed my eyes and placed my hand on my forehead, "Not this again..." I murmur. "Yes, this again! I know how much you want to be a dancer and make it big, but you need to at least have another job otherwise if your plans goes through the roof, you won't have a safety net to catch you. You a smart girl and you could easily get a job if you only apply yourself." Taylor said, gripping my arm. "Look, Taylor...I love you like a sister, but This is what I want!" I gesture to the others dancing. "I love you too, and I worry about you. Do you know how rare it is to be a big time dancing queen?" Taylor asks. "Yeah, I know. Which is why I want to do it all the more. Now, you came here for fun and that's what we're gonna have, a'ight?" I say, paying Will before taking Taylor onto the floor, who didn't really put up much of a fight.
