Prologue

The moon light danced against my pale skin, as I wondered the streets of down town San Dieago. The streets were still bright from lamp post and you could see small groups of drunks making their way home. I tried to avoid them at all cost.

I made my way off F street and onto 5th passing The Tipsy Crow. I had heard it was an old historic bar, but that was all I ever heard about it. As I walked past the front doors, a man was being thrown out probably due to his intoxication level. I quickly made my way around him and proceeded down the street. 

"Hey!" I heard the drunken man call from behind me, "Wait up!"

I ignored the man in hopes he'd leave me alone.

"Lady, wait!" I heard the man call out to me again. I grabbed the pepper spray key chain out of my pocket. The bottle had never been used and I honestly don't know how to use it.

I could hear his steps catching up to mine. For a drunk he sure could keep up. Before I realized how close he was, I felt his hand on my should, "Lady, you drop -" I turned to face him and let the pepper spray hit his face.

I quickly dropped the bottle and began whiping away at his face, "I am so sorry!"

The man in front of me was not the drunk but someone completely different. He was tall and lanky with blonde spikey hair, "It's fine." He squinted and stuck out some money, "You dropped this."

"I am so sorry for this. Please let me buy you something to eat." I placed the cash back into my pocket.

"No really it's fine." He rubbed at his eyes, "I should have said something about the money." The whites of his eyes were now crimson.

I looked at him for a moment admiring him, "Please," I smiled, "let me get you something to eat. My name is Fiona." I stook out my hand.

He chuckled and smiled, "You aren't gonna give up til I have dinner with you huh?" I shook my head, "Name's Mike." His hand completely engulfed mine, "Now lets go get something to eat."

Ocean Views of Westeros

 

Hey!" I snatched the remote out of Mike's hand, "Do. Not. Change. Game Of Thrones."

"We've seen this episode." Mike folded his arms in defeat.

I sat a bag of chips between us on the couch, "I know but the new episode comes on next. I wanna be hyped for," I made my voice deep and old classic announcer sounds, "The Battle Of The Bastards!!"

"You're a dork," Mike smiled and throw his legs over my thighs, almost crushing the chips in the process.

"Watch out," I said placing the bag on top of Mike's legs.

"Where's your boyfriend?" He looked around the room to see if he was around.

"He doesn't like Game of Thrones." I placed a chip on my tongue, "You think my Khaleesi and Jon Snow will be a thing?"

"Aren't they related?"

"No proof. Just fan speculation." I stopped and thought for a second, "Doesn't matter if he is or not."

Before we knew it we were engulfed in the fantasy world that had become a second home to us for the past 6 years. We cheered on Jon Snow and his Wildlings and booed at Ramsey and his army. The next moment we are sobbing over the deaths of fictional characters and praising Sansa for being a badass for once.

When the show finally ended, Troy came walking in. His curly green hair was damp from the small shower of rain that must have started sometime during the show.

"Hey, love." He said as he kissed my cheek, "How are things, Mike?"

Mike just nodded and began cleaning up the crumbs we dropped.

"I'm gonna go take a shower and go to bed. Got to be up early for work tomorrow." Troy headed back to the bedroom to gather his things.

"If you want you can stay the night in the guest bedroom." I offered to Mike as we throw away empty coke cans.

"Nah," He said grabbing his keys and walking towards the door, "I have my own places to sleep and I'm sure there is some pretty girl waiting for me." He winked at me and left.

I shook my head in silence as Mike left.

I felt the bed shift as Troy got up. His dark green hair looked almost neon in the early morning sun.

"Sorry," He whispered pushing the hair out of my face, "did I wake you?"

I stared into his jade green eyes, "I can't be mad waking up and seeing you."

We stared at each other for several moments just admiring the other. Troy the moon of my life and I was his sun and stars. This was the man I was meant to love. No one could ever tell me different.

Once we were able to break apart from each other Troy got dressed and left for work. I got up not long after he left.

My schedule was cleared for today but I felt the ocean calling me. I quickly changed into a simple black bikini and headed towards the beach.

I arrived a little after 9. The crowds were starting to settle in at La Jolla Shores. But not even a hurricane could stop me from exploring the life below.

Once the salty air filled my nostrils, I knew I was home. I dropped my towel on the beach and attached my keys to my wrist. The sand stuck between my toes as stepped into the water. I watched as the world moved around me all the while I was suspended in zero gravity.

The sun was getting well into the sky by the time I got out. My fingers and toes were wrinkled and my hair was full of sand. I grabbed my towel and lightly dried myself off.

When I got back to the car, I noticed I had a missed call from Mike. I listened to the voicemail almost immediately.

"Yo, come drink with me and the band tonight. Say The Tipsy Crow?"

When I was finally ready, I was surprised to see Troy and Mike had already started drinking. Each had a beer in their hand chatting about something.

"There she is!" Mike said clapping his hands above his head, "You left the mace right?"

I laughed and ignored him as Troy slipped his arm around my waist.

"I'm being serious did you?"

The Tipsy Crow was cream colored building with yellow accents that blended in with the area. It was an old bar that I frequented on the weekends. It held so many memories of exciting times with friends.

Once inside Vic, Jamie, and their dates had saved us a table near the front of the stage. I introduced myself to all of their dates but soon noticed Mike didn't have anyone with him. Soon, Tony and Charm joined us.

"Hey, where is your date?" I whispered once we had been seated.

"She's on her way." Mike sounded kind of annoyed but I just shrugged it off.

Once we had around of drinks, a tall bony girl with long black hair approaches our table. She half smiled half waved at us before taking the seat next to Mike and pulling out her phone. Tony and I made eye contact; he had obviously never met her before, neither.

After a few more drinks the comedy show started. Never once did I see Mike's date look up from her phone, even he didn't seem that interested in her.

Once the show was coming to a close the comedian looked out to the crowd and said, "Now people, there is a special friend of mine here tonight and he asked me to let him up on the stage to say a few words. I automatically asked why he would want MY," He motioned up and down his body, "spotlight." the crowd chuckled," But then he explained to me why. So I'm going to let him stage now. Troy?"

I looked at Troy questionable as he stood up and walked towards the stage. He grabbed the mic and looked out at everyone, "Hello," his nerves caused him to laugh lightly, "I, uh, well, I'm not very good at speaking publically. Especially with something some important. But I didn't want anyone to be able to forget this night." He ran his fingers through his hair, "I meet this girl about 2 years ago." I felt my face becoming red as random people began staring at me, "She's the best women I have ever meet. Before she came into my life, I felt like I had no purpose. Fiona," I felt the heat of a spotlight turn towards me, "every day that I am with you, my love for you gets stronger. The way your eye light up when you see the ocean it gives me hope for humanity." He walked down the stage held out his hand to me. He helped me out of my seat and we stood before the whole bar, "I never want to spend another day without you." Troy got down on one knee and pulled a box from his jacket pocket, "Will you marry me?"

I felt tears swell in my eyes as I looked down at the man I loved. I couldn't speak. My body released endorphins. All I could do was nod.

The crowd erupted into cheers as Troy slipped the ring on my finger. He grabbed my face, capturing me a long passionate kiss. This was the man I was going to spend the rest of my days.

Once we returned to the table a bottle of nice wine was delivered to our table, on the house. I couldn't help but notice Mike and his date were gone. Mike probably took her back to his place for the night.

As our night came to a close, Troy decided he'd stay at his place tonight for the last time. He would be moving all of his things in tomorrow morning.

When I got home, I sat on the couch thinking of the small differences the house would soon have. No longer would there be only one coffee cup or one toothbrush. His things would litter my home in the best way possible. I sat int the living room for hours daydreaming about the small changes.

I was shaken from my fantasy, as someone pounded on my door.
