Preface
I once got asked the question "what would you do if you woke up dead?" at the time what could i say exept if i'm dead i can't exactly wake up can i? my story is a romantic one yet distiguished from the rest see i'll start from the begining and you'll see i have always been me yet not in the true sense of the word.


Chapter one
My name was Alanna Porter and it was eighteen sixteen i don't remember it of course but i was told the story however the young woman i was told was beautiful her hair like spun gold, eyes like huge emeralds she was poor however and noone had any idea who she was or where she cam from and by the look of it heavy with child as well. Many women frowned upon the slight girl with the swollen stomache, she was only a child herself just turned fifteen and yet she was a alone in the world with no family known.On day she disappered just like that she was gone and that caused a talk in the town why would such a heavily pregnant young girl just leave? it didn't seem right but noone had any answers at all.
Two months went past and one day two young men and an old woman where riding by a creek when the woman spotted something in the water floaten near the rocks it took her a few seconds and when she realised what it was she let out a scream the terrified the two men with her. One of the men got off his horse and walked over to the dead girl and slowly closed his eyes it was her his dearly beloved sister who had went missing not two months before, he turned around then when he was about to get on his horse he heard it a cry a newborn childs cry. He searched and searched untill he came across some reeds and there nesstled on them was a baby a beautiful tiny baby girl and that girl was of course me. The had no idea what to do with me so they took me back to their home and discussed what was to happen to 'the child ' as i was nicknamed. There was they say another woman a young fragile girl of eighteen who looked a lot like her sister my mother, exept this girl had dark hair which fell in thick curls down her back but which she kept high up on her head and her eyes oh those eyes they were so preety sky blue and so gentle and kind, they say she was the first woman ever to pick me up and hold me close to her heart.They decided i would stay there untill a later date this worked for all of them.
My first memory is of a three year old me and the old woman staring at me mesmerized , she said i was so pretty a flower so sweet so quiet yet she didn't know noone did, i wasn't like them i was diffrent i wasn't human i was special . They once told her to be carefull and not to get to attached to me as i wasn't me. So i grew up not loved yet also not hated i grew up with and without a family they were there but not in the true meaning of the word. When i was five one of the men decided i should be given away to someone else, for them to raise me. I was confused i was a child yet i knew something was amiss noone would look at me or even touch me, i knew then at that age though i knew not the word that i was an outcast unwanted and unloved.
I grew up faster than normal at nine i was in a house for young adies or so it was called, while the other girls did as they were told and dressed up in ladylike clothes i again didn't fit in i prefered to stand my ground and my favourite colour was black i remember being stared at a lot as it was unheard of for such a young girl to wear such a colour. The woman who looked after us was named madame Pertion and she delighted in hurting me or pulling me up in front of th rest of taking absolute joy in bringing me down of making me break inside. The other girls chose to stay away from me the frowned and raised a delicate eyebrow if i even so much as looked at one of them yet it was here i was asked that question by a girl of eight a very pretty girl of eight who walked right up to me without fear and smiled as i was just a child myself my reaction was to smile back and then she asked it the waking up dead question and what could i say? so i said what i had too and walked away.
One day i was outside when i noticed something on my chest just ubove my heart i gently placed my finger above it and stared at it, it was in the shape of a girl but it glowed a slight faint gold i had no idea what it was then and i still don't now but back then it freaked me out and i gasped what was it? it looked like a birthmark but something told me it wasn't it meant something and i wanted to know what thats where my second journey begins.
