chapter 1

Trodden fields of blood soaked earth, polished swords of patriotic knights hitting their mark, screaming horses and men alike just trying to stay alive. War is a dirty trade. It's my trade. I live it, breath it. I'm damn good at it. All though, I don't relish the fact that I kill by the dozens. The only reason I fight is to escape my home. My prison, its called Envelar donvi castle. Being princess alla of envelar means little to me now that my father has ruined the kingdom. King aldin is a pig. To be honest id like to see him choke on the food he devours while our people starve. The kingdom of envelar used to be beautiful, prosperous, and full of happy people. But them my father took over and there is no more happiness. Only war.

My father cared little for me while I was growing up. He left me for the servants to raise after my mother died with fever. I was young, and the pain of losing my mother was crushing. Every day in that place reminded me of my loss and loneliness. As soon as I was of age, I left the castle and haven't looked back since. That was six years ago on my seventeenth birthday. I traded high nosed royals for hardworking men of war.

Being 5'11, sturdy, and a devil with a sword allowed me to be accepted among the men. It took time but I earned their respect. And they finally gave up trying to bed me. I don't desire men in that fashion. I haven't the slightest idea why but I find them repulsive. Anyway with my skills and ruthlessness in battle I earned quite a reputation in the military. I was eventually appointed the captain of my own group of men. I've lead them through countless successful battles along our southern boarder the past four months, and as we broke camp this morning I thought today would be just the same as every other. But I've never been more wrong. Today is the day we would fail our first battle. Today is the day I would suffer another great loss. And today is The day I would gain something I never knew was possible.

We broke camp, packed our sattle bags, and dressed in our gleaming armor. Just as the sun broke over the horizon, I gave the order to mount up and we were on our way. The morning was warm, I could feel sweat roll down my back as a feeling of dread set upon me. Today wasn't going to be a good one. The feeling tightened around my heart as the hours progressed. Just before noon When I crested the hill we were climbing I knew exactly why that feeling settled in me. Before my eyes were atleast three hundred enemy troops. their numbers tripled ours. I knew we would never make it out of this alive but we never run from a fight. Never give up a chance to protect our lands and loved ones. I turned to my men in time to see my second in command turn and push his horse into a run away from the looming battle field. Coward. I looked into the eyes of my soldiers.
"Alright men, does anyone else want to abandon their honor like our esteemed comrade?" I yelled.
No one made a noise. Just looked to me for encouragement.
"This will be the fight of our lives, and we may not survive it but for my country and my honor I would lay down my life anyday! Are you with me!?"
At that the men let out the strongest war cry I've ever heard from them. I joined in as I drew my sword and kicked my horse into a gallop down the hill, to our deaths.

chapter 2

My horse cut through their formation as I cut down men left and right. As soon as i'd plunge my sword into ones chest another was comming at me, I had just enough time to swing my sword to decapitate him. Blood sprayed from the stump of a neck sullying my gleaming armor. Just then someone took the legs from underneath my horse throwing me onto the blood soaked mud. Luckily I kept my grip on my sword. as I rolled over I had to block a swing that was aimed at my head. When he drew back I kicked his legs causing him to fall over me. I drew my dagger and pushed it between his ribs to his heart.

Pushing him off me I quickly got up and readied myself for The next attacker. I was in a rage. There were no thoughts just actions. I killed one after another. I stabbed, slashed, kicked. None of them where a match for me. None were quick enough to block my sward and save themselves. But then one man dodged my blow and swiftly swung at me. I barely blocked it and the force behind it made my hands sting. I pushed as hard as I could against his blade giving me a bit of distance from him. I ripped off my helmet with a snarl and readied for his attack. "This is it" I thought while I blocked his next blow. Then I put all y weight behind a low stab. He side stepped at The last possible second leaving me off balanced falling to the ground. "I can't beleive I'm dying because of a rookie mistake. Idiot. I knew better." I thought as his sword was placed on my neck.

He then kneeled beside me, and removed his helmet. "He" turned out to be a painfully beautiful she with blond hair. And then she spoke "you fought amiably but now you are my war prisoner" she said through a smile. Someone then brought her horse beside us. She took out some rope and tied my hands. Then removed all my weapons. I was pulled to my feet. Looking around I saw all my men were dead.

"Gather weapons!" The blond woman shouted "leave the dead. Mount up, we still have sixty miles to ride before we set camp" then she looked down at me from her horse. "I'm sorry about your men...but it was stupid of you to face us with such small numbers."
"Fuck off" I flatly replied. She smirked and turned from me pointing her horse tword the north and started riding.
