She screamed. She screamed so long and loud that the whole town vibrated. Children clutched their parents. Animals burrowed underground. Worried citizens called the police. What is it? whatever it was, it was not human. By nightfall they had learned, it was not. It was a beautiful young girl turned outcast. Her voice was once prized, listened too. But no more. A shift had occured in the atmosphere; and the girl was cast out on her face. She was no longer human. She was a creature, stranded alone on a desserted island. She didn't feel anymore. She was trapped in A darkness where she did not belong; and a nightmare she couldn't escape. So she screamed, and screamed. But no one was listening. They were all to afraid..

Adi walked into the ordinary building like she's done a million times before. Her brown hair streaked with purple and her glasses on her face. She feels a tap on her shoulder and turns to see Mark, his bookbag hanging over his shoulder and he's got his headphones in his ears. "I forgot to tell you, i'm leaving early today." "why?" "mom's taking me to a doctors appointment." he says taking his headphones out. "okay, i gotta go meet Jason before the bell rings." Mark's face tiwsts up like he's just smelled rotting flesh. "Don't be like that." Adi says half playfully rolling her eyes. "I don't like that guy he's so...fishy." "fishy? is that even in the dictionary?" Adi asks looking at him with curiousity. "Maybe..i gotta get to class, see ya nugget. Oh, and happy birthday" Mark says before jogging off down the hall. Adi chuckles at the nickname and continues her walk down the hall until she reaches her distination. Jason is standing by his locker, his varsity football hanging over his shoulders. He's to busy texting to notice her creep up beside him. "Hey" Jason turns around so fast he almost gets whiplash. "Oh hey babe." he quickly puts his phone away and kisses her. The moment is quickly ruined by a snickered laugh and a voice saying "Get a room." Their attention is turned to Elle. Her red hair is stretched almost to her butt. Her knock-off gucci bag hangs on her arm. Although she swears to the shopping gods it's real. "what do you want?" Jason asks standing infront of Adi. "Oh nothing, Hey adi." Adi looks up at Elle. "You might wanna fix that hairstyle. What, are you going emo now?" she winks at Jason and walks away. Adi looks at her feet. She can't really blame elle for acting like that. I mean, Jason was a football jock and everybody loved him; and Adi was...well, Adi. She wasn't a A+ student, she didn't have a rich daddy, she wasn't an adored cheerleader. She had a nice house, an amazing brother, a mom, and a dad that died when she was 10. Sometimes she really does question why Jason stays with her. "hey," Adi turns her attention to Jason who's giving a small smile. "She's a bitch, you know that. Don't worry about it okay?" he gives her a soft kiss. Just as she's about to kiss back, the bell rings. "I'll walk you to class." Jason says grabbing Adi's hand.
"Jason?" "yeah?" "My birthday's today and i was wondering if you-" "Nope, not telling. I told you, it's a surprise." he says smiling down at her. "But..i hate surprises. They make mo so anxious. Emphasis on HATE." Adi says pointing at him. he laughs. "sorry baby, i guess you'll have to wait until after school." he gives her a kiss quick on the cheek and she walks into her English class.
After school Adi walks home, when she sees David, the local "nerd" sitting on a swing. "hey david" Adi says as she walks up and sits on the swing next to him. "Oh hey adi, how's everything going?" he asks kicking some of the dirt with his shoe. "it's good. how are you?" "Fine. My dad, had to go back to the hospital, so my aunt Rosa's coming down." he puts his head down. "Is it really bad?" "They don't know. They said as long as he keeps his monitor near by, he'll be okay.." "Oh well, i'm here if you need me." Adi gives him a quick hug before walking back home. As she steps into her door, her phone buzzes, she looks to see she has a text message from Jason: Okay, Come over. you're surprise is ready ;)
Adi giggles to herself, puts her bookbag down and basically runs out of the house. Making her way to Jason's. He meets her at his front door "It's in my room." He says following behind Adi "where are you parents?" "work" adi nods and sits down on his bed. The dirty pile of clothes in the corner sending a mild stench through her nose. Jason grabs a black velvet box from his dresser and sits down next to Adi. "i like you alot and i think it's time i gave this to you" Curiosity filled Adi's mind. What could it be? A bracelet? A necklace? Maybe it was a promise ring. Jason opens the box and Adi's face turns into one of confusion. "A condom?" Jason only nods. "I want to be your first." He kisses her. What else can she do but kiss back? It's hot, steamy. But to fast for her liking. "Wait." He doesn't. "Jay, hold on." "Don't make me stop." he's sloppy, leaving bite marks on her neck and shoulders. Adi thinks on her feet and launches her knee up. Hitting her target. Jason rolls over but quickly regains his balance. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" He yells cupping his pants. "I..I don't think i'm ready for all of this yet." She says standing awkwardly on the other side of the bed. "Well, i hate to break it to you baby, but i'm the best you're ever gonna get? Wanna know why? Because you're an unattractive loser. Nobody talks to you besides you're stupid brother. Who needs you anyway? Elle is so much more better at this than you." Adi gasps as she tries to wrap her head around what is going on. How can someone that loved her be so cruel? Tears stinged her eyes but she wouldn't let them fall. She wouldn't let him see her like this. Before he can say anything else, she runs down the steps 2 at a time and out of the house.
What a way to end a birthday huh?
