Chapter

The click of heavy footsteps followed as I crept along the narrow hallway, following my every movement. Ahead a light flickered, its colours dull and shady as it barely lighted the path ahead. The footsteps slowed to a halt as a piercing scream ripped through the building, its sheer sound bursting my ear drums. As blood dripped down onto my shoulders I quickened my pace in hopes to escape the sound. My heavy breathing could be heard from miles away as the sound of the footsteps could be heard again. Sliding to a stop, I was faced with a horrific sight.

Before my eyes bright red blood dripped down the old stone walls, halting my movements completely. I quickly regretted my choice as a warm breath breathed down my cold neck. Realisation soon came to my mind as I read what was written ahead in the fresh blood. ‘RUN’.  I gasped, my legs went into over drive sprinting as fast as I could in the other direction without thinking of the further dangers ahead. The heavy padding of my attacker gained speed, soon going from one person to three, as they chased after my tired body. The energy was drained and my support was dead, I knew it was her blood on the old stone walls.

My small legs felt the rapid change from the smooth cement onto a rough and uneven gravel road. As the hallway narrowed even more than before, opening up into a dark and frightening forest. Moonlight slithered through the small cracks that the leaves of the trees provided and the gravel slowly turned into dirt. Roots and leaves covered the rough ground, hiding all the possible holes out of plain site, representing a trap. My feet moved quickly, pacing with the fast beat of my heart as I heard the distance howl of a wolf approaching. The sharp branches of the trees scratched my pale skin, tearing open the flesh as bright red blood oozed from the new wound.

A cool breeze swept past my body, the thud of a wolf sounded as leaves crunched and braches snapped. My dull chocolate eyes searched the area widening as they landed upon a pair of vibrant green eyes that stared back with much force. The dark caramel coat shimmered in the moonlight and made the green of the wolf’s eyes stand out, as it stood tall and rigid. Crouching the wolf prepared to attack as my shaking body slowly moved towards the bass of a tree. I paced my breathing, calming myself down to stop the horrendous shake of my body, as fear washed over me. I hoped that my friends were still alive, prayed that at least one of them made it out.

Thoughts consumed me, dragging me down into the hollow depths, where light did not exist, no hope possible and guilt took over my emotions. ‘It’s all your fault’ a smooth voice rang through my ears, ‘I am dead because of you’, the voice sounded familiar. My brain clicked it was friend, the one whose screams made my body shiver and heart race. She was dead because of me, I killed her and it’s all my fault. No matter what the dark pits of guilt washed over my figure, taking all my strength with it. I collapsed, the branches clawed at my very skin, opening the soft skin and dark blood pooled around my shivering body.

A growl was heard to my left, drowning out all the voices. I choked as fresh warm blood flowed out of my frozen mouth, my eyes slowly started to close. Black dots covered my vision, my mouth filled with blood and my ears clogged with the sticky red substance. I waited for darkness to consume me, my heart slowed to a near stop and life left my eyes. My last image engraved in my brain, my last breath taken from me as I was startled and my last word scared me. The beautiful caramel wolf with vibrant green eyes stood above my dying form, as the words ‘Kill Me’ left my mouth.

Chapter two

I heard voices in the distance, muffled and soft as they talked to each other about something I did not know. They were soon drowned out by my thoughts, as everything rushed back to me. I remember what happened before we were taken, every little detail, every single word. It all felt like a dream but I knew it wasn’t, this was reality, and it’s real. It ran through my head like a dream in my sleep, but it wasn’t a dream it was a nightmare, one I never want to remember. I thought about what happened, letting myself be drowned into my darkening memories.

“Aurora” my friends Avery and Autumn yelled. I turned around with a joking smile, but it dropped as I saw what stood behind her. I screamed like my life depended on it, well it actually it did. I called for help but it didn’t come, the attackers moved forward slowly. I regret going out into the woods now, it was the worst mistake. They pounced their larger forms crushing us into the ground as my friends bones cracked. Guilt consumed me, they were only human and yet here they were dying because I was wanted. I fought back with all I had, screaming and jolting around to help my friends. Avery fought back as well but she didn’t stand a chance. A chloroform cloth was placed on my mouth, as I watched them drag away my friends. I didn’t know what was going to happen, but deep, deep down I knew, I knew what was going to happen and it scared me to death.  Awakening in the darkness I cried. I knew she was dead, I could feel it in my bones, and I just hoped and wished it wasn’t true. I was too caught up with my thoughts that I didn’t know someone had entered, until I felt the shiny knife digging into my neck. I was goner, he laughed like a manic, he probably was and it shocked me when he spoke. “I hope you said goodbye to everyone, because you’re not going to be the same when I finish with you. If anything you’ll hate on the life you once had, I’ll make you kill everyone you ever loved”. Petrified and nervous, I waited for him to leave. I saw an escape and took it. I wasn’t staying there any longer.  It was time to run for my life…. The rest was a blur as I was cashed through the halls and into the forest, but the last part stirred something in my mind.

Startled I jerked awake, gasping at the unwanted memory. The light was bright and excruciating, it shined down on my eyes. Confused I looked around the white room unaware of the figures talking in the corner. I screamed until my throat was red roar, frightened and left with a feeling of longing. I was wanted, I was aware of that and an unfamiliar places alarmed every bone in my body, worried my mind and freaked me out to the limit. One of the figures approached me calmly, I was still dizzy from the excruciating pain I went through. I fought, and struggled beneath the restraints that held me to the uncomfortable bed. Attacking the figure in front of me with all my energy, I heard their screams and cries for help. But I didn’t understand what they were saying and I realised too late what was about to happen. Soon a prick was felt in my left arm, sharp and throbbing while it dived deeper into my soft skin. Piercing the muscle and veins as it bled out a small amount.

I was used to the pain that the injection brought as I fought off the effects, I wasn’t going to be sedated and that was final. The reason as to why they had sedated me was unknown in my brain, as different scenarios ran a hundred miles per hour, racing to see which one was true. Was I that evil? I am not a danger, I wouldn’t hurt anybody if it wasn’t necessary. I’m definitely not a cruel and sick person… Shaking my head off, I thrashed in the bed, wanting out. Needing to be released and let free. I hated being confined and neither did she. Her voice nagged at the back of my mind, wanting to take control and let herself out. I whimpered when she crashed into the barrier that kept her out of control. I couldn’t let her out, she would make everything worse. She is evil, I can’t let anything bad happen. Once she gets control I have no hope, everything will be destroyed. I let the injection take my body into unconsciousness and faded out of the world.

Chapter three

My eyes slowly fluttered open and the bright gleam from the lights shone down on my face. I took my sweet time in moving my hands and feet, bringing back the feeling once again. Sore and red raw from previous screaming, I reached over for a cup of water. Taking a sip I chocked, it was tinted with wolfs bane, a deadly poison to werewolves. The door to the room burst open as a nurse and the man from earlier entered the room at a speeding pace, I jumped back. Scared and frightened, I knew they wouldn’t hurt me but I was still cautious, I always need to be now days. “Are you alright?” The mysterious man from earlier called out his voice soft and sweet. I looked into his vibrant green eyes and noticed soft speckles of chocolate brown hidden in with the green. They were rimmed with a dark forest green colour. His eyes popped and stood out against his dark caramel skin colour that complimented his dark chocolate brown and slightly wavy hair. Snapping out of my gaze I nodded my head. I quivered in the bed scared and frightened, my eyes scanned the room for a possible escape. I came up with nothing when I heard a throat clear.

The nurse’s hand touched my skin, my eyes filled with pain as they glazed over and her future passed through my mind at rapid speed. I jerked when I saw how
