I am always scared and fascinated by nightmares. I mean, everyone is scared, but very few are fascinated, and the reason's got to be thr creatvity of our mind and how it can play tricks on us. This story is about one such nightmare.

So here's how it began. My family and i were having dinner when, seemingly out of nowhere, a postcard appeared. It was black in color with red highlghts. And there was a bat-like thing, and something written but it was too clumsy to be deciphered. Inside was a red colored letter which was an an invitation, or iI must say, a VIP pass to something called 'THE MANSION'.  

We all thought it was some kind of a joke, but the next day at the exact same time, another postcard appeared. Now we knew it wasn't a joke. This was pretty much the same, but with one condition, "ONLY ONE OF YOU CAN ARRIVE". So we decided that I was going. We thought it would be one of the million lucky draws we had enrolled in. But that was a mistake, a big one at that. We dialled the phone number which was written, seemingly with blood, on the letter. The management told us the address. I was overtly excited to go to "THE MANSION". Little did I know that the excitement would soon turn into fear.

 I was at the entrance of "THE MANSION" when I noticed something strange. All the workers looked un-human-ly. Some had too much hair on the hands, some were pale-looking and only worked in the shade, some were really tall, some were taped all over the body. Well, this could just be to make us think it is haunted, but they looked real and without makeup. 

Anyways I showed the pass at the counter, and walked in only to see another counter, almost identical to the previous one. I looked back and, boom,  the counter i had just passed through was gone. I probably thought it was some trick or optical illusion. So I moved ahead and, well guess what? I was at another counter. I was fed up of this and asked the management as to how to get out of this illusion. They said that I will reach the park if I cross 5 counters. Tired, I walked through 5 counters and reached, I don't know whatto call it. Mansion, cave, castle, evil fortress, whatever! I reached the destination. The feeling of terror engulfed my mood. It was a huge snake's skull at the entrance.

 I have seen many artificial snake skulls as entrances, but this looked real. Real to the level of terrifying even a brave adult! I went close to inspect, and as soon as I stepped into the skull, the jaw chomped and closed. I thought it was probably a gimmick. I touched the teeth and it looked and felt real, almost too real to be fake. I moved ahead and felt a muscular structure. Probably a gimmicky tongue. As soon as i stepped on it, salty water flooded the chamber and i was flown into the castle.
