Mary, Oh Mary

It was dying.

The burning, giant ball of a combination of 76% hydrogen, and 26% helium, and little bits oxygen, carbon, neon, nitrogen, magnesium, iron and silicon, otherwise known as the Sun, was dying. But strangely, it was rather cool, seeing the one thing that was going to kill all life the our solar system, dying. It looked as if it actually wasn't dying, but more like as if it was exploding a universe encased inside it, what with all the unimaginable colours that were unrecognisable to me being hurled this way to that.

I mean sure, once the solar rays hit Earth, we, the human race, will be wiped out and never heard of again. But at least I should be able to appeciate one last thing's beauty before I die, right?

"Mary! Mary!", a voice called behind me. I sighed. Dante.

I turned, no longer intrigued by the explosion of rainbowish doom that was hurling towards us, and was now being hypnotised by the glowing azure orbs of that which were Dante's eyes. Dante was my best friend, my boyfriend, and the only one that won't die from the fire apocalypse. Dante, in fact, was the one that decided for the Earth to die.

Because Dante was the God of this Earth.

"Hey, you doing okay?", my god boyfriend gave a hint of worry in his eyes, his ebony hair swaying backwards from the wind.

I pursed my lips. "My world is about to be destroyed, I'm about to die, and you ask me if I'm okay

? What kind of stupid question is that?"

He frowned. "...Right. Sorry for asking." He straightened himself, and looked at me in silence. He knew I was mad at him, and I had a right to be as well. He lied to me.

He lied

.

I could hear it now. The sound of the winds that were being sent from the solar flares. My honey brown hair moved to the front of my face. I was beginning to be able to not look at Dante, which made me happy.

But of course, he moved the hair from my face. "Oh Mary..," He began, just about to give me another empty promise. But I wouldn't let that happen.

"No, Dante. Just stop. Stop doing this to me." I was on the verge of tears.

He gave me a look. "Won't you listen to what I have to say?"

No.

"Whatever."

He winced at my icy tone, but tried to persist me anyhow. "Listen, I have an idea that you might like."

I shut my eyes in anger and snapped. "Oh, I wonder how I'm going to like THIS idea. I mean, of course I loved the idea of you practically cheating on me. And of course I'm loving the idea that you decided to destroy my world. My home."

He pursed his lips in silence, then licked his lips before once again speaking. "I was going to suggest you come with me. Away from here."

He told of stories, legends, and tales

He told of is hometown in the land of Cadaile

I no longer know of his doings, for I am far way

Maybe, just maybe, he's still there today

So if you ever visit Newsbay St., ask for the man who's name is Stock

The little man at the corner in the middle of the block
