Preface

The great eagle soared above me, scanning the fields and woods for prey. It saw something and dived, spiralling towards the ground.
I lay there, watching, as the eagle caught it's latest victim and flew up, towards the vast, never-ending blue sky. All i wanted at this moment was to be up there with it, with the endless sky aroung me, only caring for my own life, only worrying about me.
My mind started to think of all the things that could happen. My breaths started to come quicker and shallower. My heart fluttered like a hummingbirds wings, like it was trying to escape through my chest, trying to get away from my body, my body that would soon be changing. I had made up my mind.
Looking over to the edge of the forest, i saw several pairs of eyes staring at me. Some showed betrayal, some anger and one pair showed hope. But that hope was futile. One of the pairs of eyes growled, a low, menacing sound. But i didn't have to worry about them. Because they were only waiting.
