The runners

“Why is it always me? Why can't it be Lilly or Christopher....but no it's always me!" I said "because I say so! That’s why" said Martha. I walked over to mamma and finally spit it out "can I have some cookies mamma?" like a little angle. But of course mamma wasn't fooled. she took a pause and thought about it real hard and for a second I thought she would say yes, which would be a big deal because she was about to finish dinner, she took a big breath and said to her self "hmmm oo should I? Maybe I shouldn't?" then she stared at me and said "alright witch one of them put you up to this?" I widen my eyes and said "why I never!" She looked at me and turned around she whispered "hopeless" really softly so I wouldn't hear but I heard it. "Soooo.....can I have some?" "no." mamma said "dinners almost done. You can wait." I mouthed the word "what!" and stomped off. "Where’s the cookies?" said Martha "didn't I teach you well enough to know never to give up for cookies?" Martha was older then all of us, me Lilly and Christopher, Martha is a control freak who likes to boss rather then do. She is a simple know it all but I guess all older sisters are. And all older sisters once in a while have your back. "Lilly it’s your turn." Lilly looked up from her shoes with a pitiful look on her face. She started crying for a while then licked the bottom of her noise and wiped away the tears. She crawled out of the bed room, down the stairs, and to the kitchen. We followed after to her to hear the bits of conversation we could hear from the stairs. "Mamma can I have some cookies? I want to share them so don't think I’m fat cause I’m not I just want to share them like how that cat in the book you read me, a HE shares." Lilly said gasping for air. "Are you nerves Lilly pad because you only talk like that when your nerves and pressured." "MAMMA, Martha is goanna yell at me like she yells at Cindy if I don't get those cookies for her!" Lilly started crying real hard "she's not even goanna share mamma!" mamma stared at the stair and spotted us. we all widen are eyes when we saw she spotted us and gasped screaming while she walked closer with Lilly hugging her hips while crying "SHE'S COMING!" we ran into are rooms. I waited and prayed " 'o' lord I know I haven't prayed in a while and faked in church but that's because I didn't know how. Oh but now I do and now I’ll pray more often I PROMISE!" turns out she never came to anybody's room so me Christopher and Martha were confused. We all went down stairs to see plates of food on the table only where Lilly was sitting was a plate full of warm chocolate cookie with a glass of milk. "Runners don't get cookies. This wasn't fair. I wanted cookies too. "It was Martha’s fault, ALL MARTHAS! SHE TOLD ME TO.... NO SHE FORCED ME TO! I WAS JUST A SLAVE." "You could have told me when I asked" she grinned a little and picked up her fork to eat. Then stopped right before the food could reach her mouth and looked up and said softly and said "and you didn't tell” she put down her fork on the plate and said "and the exact words was WHY I NEVER!" she smiled "runners don't get cookies!" said Lilly giggling.
