The Run-away Umbrella
Once upon a time there was a little girl who lived with her mother and father and her little brother. Each member of the little girl’s family had an umbrella. The little girl loved her umbrella very much.
One stormy day, the little girl’s mother said that they had to go to the grocery store. So the little girl and her family went to the grocery store. They also brought their umbrellas with them. When the little girl and her family were walking to their car from the grocery store, a big gust of wind blew the little girl’s umbrella out of her hand! The little girl screamed and dropped the box of cookies that she had been holding. She and her family tried to catch the umbrella, but they were too slow. So they sadly went back to pick up their groceries. But they were all wet, even the cookies because it had been raining. The little girl and her family were wet too. The little girl was very sad that she had lost her umbrella.
Now, the umbrella had been open because the little girl had been using him, so the wind carried him around.
“Look at me, look at me!” cried the umbrella as he soared through the air. “I’m flying!”
The umbrella went around the world throughout the years and had so many adventures that I could not list them all here!
But one day the winds stopped carrying him.
As he fell through the sky he said “I guess this is the end of all of my adventures.”
Finally he landed. He landed, though, on a stone doorstep. He waited and waited for somebody to notice him, and finally somebody opened the door right next to him. He recognized the person immediately.
“Oh my goodness; is that my old owner?” he said excitedly.
“My old umbrella!” said the girl.
The girl was his old owner, and she ran inside the house and showed her parents.
And they lived happily ever after!
